I don't think anyone knows whether Vine has got any money out of this so far, or how much he might eventually get, or whether he will (e.g.) donate it to charity.
£75,000 doesn't sound a huge amount if it's to cover all the court costs and legal fees for a case like this.
It would appear from various sources that this has still got some distance to run.
Barton would a) have been better not posting the comments in the first place, then
b) Having done so apologising immediately as a damage limitation exercise
