I said a month ago that the end of season activities re manager selection, players leaving, and players coming in might provide more entertainment than the past season itself-looks like I might be right

That Nixon fella is adamant it's one of Lampard, Bellamy or Parker. Sounds like all the intriguing / exciting names are non starters.

Did Potter not manage in Sweden? He could know ass managers over there?

Why RVN? According to reports he fell out with his coaches and the team at PSV quitting 1 game shy of the end of the season.

Lampard (20/1) Bellamy (25/1) Parker (6/1) currently all with Sky Bet.
Just placing £1 on each and you make a small profit assuming Nixon is correct in his assumption.

He did, for about seven years but a different club to Henrik Jensen.

We aren't getting Graham Potter!

If that’s the case, and for all of the data they are supposed to be using to aid their decision making, it seems that computer spat out the same obvious names that have been doing the rounds since day one.

It’d be cheaper and quicker to use the blindfolded dart thrower method.

Why not wait until the managers appointed before starting with the insults?

Nixon is a total chancer … throw enough muck at wall and some will stick. Looking for fools and their money. Stay well clear of him.

Whoever ends up being our manager has one hell of a lot to do in a relatively short time. The click is ticking !

What will you do if it’s Lampard or Parker, the two names he broke before anyone? (He’s not mentioned any others with a real chance) We know both of those have been interviewed.

All he had to do was look at early betting trends came up with Lampard and Parker. Bellamy given care taker role… throw his name in too.

I’m actually feeling fine, and thanks for asking, although aware that I have an issue that needs to be dealt with. Just waiting now.

I’ve no idea on the manager situation but Lampard interest now seems to have moved to the vacancy at Sunderland with Henrik Rydström seemingly disappearing as quickly as he appeared.

Who that leaves is anyone’s guess.

Does the time it is taking suggest that they are struggling to find the ideal candidate, or haggling with a club over compo?

This is the funniest thing to me. People here will be quickly to say that Nixon always talks crap (although he broke many Burnley stories in the last few years) but will believe a random Swedish article.

Hate to go off topic but I'm curious to know why you think EH 'deserves' to be the next England manager.
I’ll answer this but as you say it is off topic.

He has got a side into the CL, done with with 2 teams now in the PL, plays attacking football that should suit our talented young forwards and he appears to be popular in the dressing room and is media friendly for the FA who worry about such things.

It is a bit Hobson’s choice but he appears the best English candidate and I believe he has to be male and English, given it is the England men’s team. A manager is as much part of the team as the players in my view. A view shared by countries like Brazil and Germany.

But anyway, it would be a risk us appointing Potter if he swans off to England in a month or two.

I think if it was down to agreeing/haggling with another club then we would know who it was. I don’t think we’ve reached that stage yet.

I agree, it worries me that there isn't an 'ideal' standout candidate. I hope they are just spoilt for choice, rather than struggling to find anyone suitable.

I suspect they is he. The last manager was clearly chosen by Pace as shown in mission, so I suspect he will be choosing again.

I’d love MtB2 to show the whole process; how the shortlist is drawn up, what questions they draw up, where they interview, their immediate thoughts on the candidates (without revealing them and the positive aspects, not an insight into what he answered badly), how the offer process works and then the negotiations around the team he brings with him, etc.

I’d find that fascinating and think a neutral would to be honest.

I’m sure most folk are aware of standard managerial recruitment process (in general). First interviews only concluded (apparently) last week, you’d then think they’d give the leading contenders second interviews. Jj has said he’ll be in on those. Therefore biggest clue that these will be happening would be jj’s arrival in Uk which usually appears on his insta.

Before end of June appears the timeframe which allows plenty of time to plan and prepare especially seeing as we have two interims ticking things over.

Remember it took ages for Kompany to be announced last time but it didn't mean he wasn't working in the background overseeing transfers, staff etc. Is it that inconceivable that we have our man, he's working away in the background but circumstances dictate he can't be announced just yet?

What would you like him to tell you?

We’re mid process recruiting a new manager at a time when other clubs are also looking for a new manager. Probably best he only announces things when they’re done and dusted.

Some are coming across as they would rather the process was rushed just to hear an announcement.

Do other clubs give updates on the various stages, I can't think of one. There seems to be genuinely nothing that someone won't whinge about.

More irony from the coast , who never shuts up about fans having a different opinion then resorts to bullying when it’s pointed out .

I don’t think so. We all knew it was going to be Kompany and we were clearly just waiting for it all to be rubber stamped. This year there has not been a time when we knew who it was going to be.

Exactly as it should be, until the ink is dry on every contract, any work permits necessary are secured and all the media work done.

Nor should there really be any leaks in a professional organisation/process but they’re not always within the clubs control.

Not done that much then to be honest. Sounds like one of those English batsmen in years past who were part of a winter tour. Never achieved anything but looked upon by the selectors as 'a good tourer'.

He said that RVN put his own name in not that he was a contender from Burnley’s side
And he was right. That means he initiated contact and we were interested. So what he said today doesn't rule out RVN.
