Am I reading into the language here 'first team assistant coach' not assistant manager.

Does that mean we will be appointing a 'head coach' instead of a 'manager'? Indicating Pace might be taking back a bit of control. Possibly leaving room to appoint a director of football?

Fully agree. Only thing that makes sense here is that it’s Bellamy and this Jensen is the assistant.
If it was Bellamy why would reports of other managers being of interest and interviews take place, Bellamy would just be announced no?

Surely "a first team assistant coach" is not the same as "assistant head coach" which is Jackson's current acting role?

It's looking like Bellamy which is a bit underwhelming.

I doubt that that has happened in this case.

Surely quite the opposite?
There's absolutely nothing to have stopped us from announcing Bellamy by now along with Jensen since he is already here.
My logical assumption is that it has to be someone else who can't be announced as yet, maybe due to involvement in Euros or due to continuing negotiations with his current club.

We’re all speculating but none of us have any idea what this appointment means.

All we know for sure is that it’s a bloody strange way of doing things and it leaves an uneasy feeling.

BE reporter saying it’s not linked to the Head Coach appointment, also adding:

‘Looks like the club are moving away from a manager towards a head coach model, meaning some backroom staff stay at the club irrespective of who the number one is.

I'm sure the new man will get some of their own people in but it makes sense to have consistency.‘

Van Nistelrooy had issues with his staff at PSV so happen he could use the staff provided by the club.

If the club are settled on a style of play that they want to keep, having an experienced coaching team who are a constant whoever the manager is makes perfect sense. The cost of hiring an entire set of coaches, then potentially having to pay them off when you sack the manager must be hugely expensive and unsettling for the team and club. If this is what they are doing, then i would be all for it.

I thought it seemed we were going down the head coach route rather than managers who come with an entourage? Here’s a bit of overthinking for you….

Pacio : hey bello lad (Bellamy) how’s the plans for pre season training going?

Bello : great Alan, just a little short of hands after A and B effed off with vk.

Pacio : leave it with me, I’ll find a good experienced and hungry coach who is adaptable and hardworking

Bello : you da best Pacio 😍

This won’t be the new managers no. 2

I think that Pace doesn't want to be caught with his pants around his ankles again, so he's taking as much precaution as possible in ensuring the football operation isn't tied to one individual.

Bellamy has total respect in the dressing room from what I've read here and there which is a MASSIVE plus.
Big names but big outsider chance managers mentioned who don't even know where Burnley is without GPS.
What really is so bad about Bellamy and Jackson till at least Christmas. We didn't have the greatest of starts in our Championship winning season...draw after draw after draw.
Most of the " big name" chance managers will still be available anyway in Jan 2025

Unrelated to the Jensen appointment, Southgate is giving us a timely taste of what we could expect of watching Burnley if we appointed Parker.

The problem Ruud or whoever it is will have is the owners don't understand football so they will expect us to repeat the Kompany Champ season.
They will just sack the manager if we aren't up there straight away rightly or wrongly

And I think there's a reason why one of them is still unknown ;)

Looking at Vinny's ego, there was one person determining style of play, signings etc and it wasn't Bellamy. We know Jackson is limited from his time as caretaker. Would keep Bellamy around but he's not a manager. Appointing him just smacks of little old Burnley mentality. I don't think it is Bellamy anyway.

101 points Kompany crap?

I agree this season has been about Kompany’s ego and in doing so he cost us our premier league place, but last season was the best in my memory for turning up to each game expecting to see all the ball and score goals. The belief in the fans even when we went 1 down was so strong that we’d score 3/4.
You’ve answered it. No matter what happened in 2022/23, last season was a complete shambles that has cost our club badly.

How cost effective is it to get JJs jet from USA to fly to Netherlands to pick RVN up to fly him to Manchester when they could just hire a private Jett from either Manchester or the Netherlands to bring him.

Players aren’t back in till Monday

Must admit JJ’s jet flying from Texas to Holland just to deliver RVN to Manchester on a 1 hour flight, which he could just get any other private flight for, is causing my mind to play some mental gymnastics.

Nobody can predict how this would work out. Same with Kompany though and to be honest nearly all the candidates were linked with. Only Parker, and arguably Bellamy, has the experience of getting a club promoted from the Championship.

That said I’m extremely excited about Ruud. He talks a very good game and has played for two of the biggest clubs in the world. Having played for United (bigger than City) and Madrid (biggest club in the world) and managed PSV (bigger than Anderlecht) he’s a far bigger profile than Kompany. Just can’t actually believe we might be painting murals of him and have that kind of connection with a great player.

After Dyche, who has gone on to prove himself as a top premier league manager, to have Kompany and then RVN as our managers is incredible and should really help build the profile and attractiveness of the club in my view. Obviously what is delivered on the pitch is most important but if we can marry the two and get back to the Premiere League again with him at the helm it’s an exciting prospect again.
