Re: Next manager
If it's Bellamy, then we're seriously skint. No other reason. Nothing on his CV to recommend him - would we look at Luton Town's or Sheff Utd's assistant manager for the job?
We wouldn't have to pay him off and he's bankrupt so will be cheap. Beyond that, there's no reason he'd even get an interview.

Bo Henriksen as manager and our new assistant Henrik Jansen is the only combination that appears to make sense as they have both worked together before....another stab in the dark really ...

Re: Next manager
From everything I've read and seen on here and social media, I'm assuming we are going for a more American coaching structure.
Perhaps Bellamy as first team coach with Jackson and Jensen as assistants, they will be in place whoever comes in. The new 'manager' may well be seen more as a Director of Football/Head Coach role as opposed to Manager.
Probably backed up by a recruitment team similar to Brentford.
The club obviously want to be in a position where when a manager leaves he doesn't take the entire backroom staff with him.

Not that this sheds any more light, though I did spot a comment on a social media post saying RVN was going to be manager (nothing to be taken seriously) tagging a friend saying 'this will be why he was on our flight'.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 1:54 pmIs it more believable then RVN being brought over in JJs jet and already met some of the players?
So I imagine he has been interiewed, and can't look any further than that.

All managers have to start somewhere, not saying I'd pick him personally over other names that have been linked but maybe he has impressed the board behind the scenesNottsClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 4:10 pmIf it's Bellamy, then we're seriously skint. Re: Next manager
It appears that Henrik Jensen was given the job weeks ago, on VK's watch, as a replacement for Bellamy. If he signed at that time, it's possible we are contractually obliged to employ him. If so, this is ridiculous. Up there with the Tresor signing for stupidity.

Bankruptcy doesn’t make him cheap, it’s whatever is in his contract.
He’s not my choice but he has in effect had a working interview for two years and forged relationships within the club and has (apparently) been interviewed along with many others.
We’re not skint and what the club has said is it’s not about the cost it’s about the person and they want the right one, hence the formal interview process, appointing interim management and not rushing.

It's such a mess. Is Bellamy not currently employed then? To be fair, I don't think anyone expected VK to disappear, and certainly not to a top club.

If I'd been forced to guess VK's next club at the conclusion of the season, I'd have punted for the Job Club at his local employment exchange centre.
To see him end up at Bayern was a shock to say the least.

We’re at least two coaches light since vk departed, this chap isn’t necessarily the new number two, just a first team quality coach (who obviously knows who the new man is likely to be and has probably been run by the new head coach before his announcement was made).groove wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 5:28 pmIt appears that Henrik Jensen was given the job weeks ago, on VK's watch, as a replacement for Bellamy. Slightly odd situation that vk has left staff behind but I’m sure it’ll fall into place.

Like everybody- can never be 100% certain that what you are told is true - but I believe Bellamy has been told today that he won't be the next manager of Burnley- if true could see him ending up as Wales manager

Hopefully this news from Nixon, assuming it's true, means that Pace has decided on a sensible candidate but feels that Bellamy deserves to be told in person that it's not him.
The alternative really doesn't bear thinking about.

Except that information is already on a football messageboard, rendering the gesture empty.
Re: Next manager
The article does say he flew out earlier this week while Nixon replied to someone suggesting if it was going to be him, surely it would be done by now, which is a fair comment.

Just about every conceivable scenario has been posted on here in the last few weeks. In the unlikely event Bellamy is sat next to the pool furiously refreshing UTC to see if he’s got a job, maybe hearing which box Pace has gone for directly from the chairman is the preferred course of events….. before CT posts his article.willsclarets wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 6:41 pmExcept that information is already on a football messageboard, rendering the gesture empty.

Re: Next manager
It was a throwaway comment, I doubt he's refreshing UTC no but you do often see media releases reporting something that is contradictory to the point of the thing being reported! ie an article about x person telling y person something in a face to face meeting.RicardoMontalban wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 6:48 pmJust about every conceivable scenario has been posted on here in the last few weeks. I didn’t say they’d be sorting them out in Mallorca. He could’ve flown out, told him he had the job and the contract would be sorted on his return.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 6:49 pmWhy would they sort the contracts in Mallorca, when pre season training starts on Monday, surely if Bellamy is coming in then Bellamy would be flying in to agree it all

Appoint him interim to start with and then fly out to speak to him again

The Mail are now reporting that RVN is expected to be named sometime soon.
They've been very on the nail with a lot of recent news about the club and I haven't seen them reporting much on other bits of speculation about our search.

Re: Next manager
It doesn’t appear that those working on the sports desk at The Mail have the confidence to profit from their scoop by placing bets on RVN since his price today has been on the drift (now 4/1 with Bet Victor).
Re: Next manager
I won't believe any rumours about the new manager unless and until a prospective Conservative party candidate slams a few quid on a name.
