If it isn't RVN, then let's hope whoever it is wants an assistant manager not of their choosing. I suspect it will be Bellamy.
I think Bellamy will take the Wales job. Unfortunately, I think Burnley is often the ugly sister. I made the mistake for many years not understanding the lack of loyalty from players and managers. I would look at jobs I have done and the loyalty people have for their place of work. The world has moved on. There is no loyalty in football. We will get who we get and they will have moved on in under 2 years. It is what it is.

I’m keen for us to have a new manager, I keep hoping to read we have one. However the fact they haven’t yet appointed someone is no great drama and in fact makes the sensible side of my brain think that bodes well, as they aren’t rushing, they are diligently looking into everything to get the right person. I also like the fact not much seems to be getting out as to who we want to be the main man.

Of course the illogical football fan in me is desperate for an appointment now or the seasons lost before it starts. It’s also desperate for it not to be Bellamy, Rosenior, Lampard or Parker, however they’ve interviewed, because I’m convinced they will be bobbins, though they may actually end up being brilliant.

Some managers don’t work as well when given money to spend. In my opinion, if someone is happy with coberan, they can’t be unhappy with Parker or Lampard, as their records are better, for the record I don’t want either.
Sorry but I've re- read this reply and I still don't understand your point. So, out of curiosity who is your particular choice?

Back in today although those who have been on international duty won’t be back for a while.

Doesn’t seem that long ago people were bashing the club for appointing a caretaker manager.

With all due respect to everyone on this post .
It’s like I said on my original post it’s time for the club to take charge of the situation , if RVN is undecided then it’s time for the club to take the choice out of his hands .
I would give it to Craig Bellamy for continuity .
Continuity with what, a season just about everyone was glad to see the back of?

A defender coach that has overseen two relegations in three seasons and an attacking coach that saw us average about 2 shots on target a game all last season and has never managed before and said he doesn’t want to manage, what could possibly go wrong.

Yes yes...we know the defence was a bit keystone kops, and the attack failed abysmally...and the set pieces were a bit of a joke...and we'll draw a veil over his MH issues and wish for a 3 day week, his lack of managerial experience, history with some key players, suspect temperament and his indifference to getting the gig anyway.. apart from that why wouldnt we be pushing the boat out for Craig's signature?

Absolute no for Rosenior, that Hull team was very strong on paper and to not even get the playoffs was a failure.

Very possible he takes the Wales job, especially with the lack of good Welsh managers available at the minute - if I was Welsh I would definitely take Bellamy over Mark Hughes!

Some news outlets saying Van Nistelrooy has snubbed Burnley for Man U.

Not much news about Parker, Lampard or Rosenior.

If I were a betting man I would go for Corberan to be our new manager/coach.

On the basis that the Kompany and Bellamy relationship had ended I doubt it would bring continuity in any case but we need something totally different to what was served up last season.

You would hope the club might already be in charge of the situation.

Good job football isn’t played on paper then and there is far more to it such as injuries, balance of squad and other teams in the league being better.

My point is there was a lot scoffing at Parker and Lampard, but want coberan. His record is inferior. And the logic that he has done it without any money bares no relevance, as we are a different prospect, and some managers don’t thrive when given money to spend.

I wanted RVN, now I’m not so sure, but I’d rather take a punt on one of the Scandinavians over coberan.

For those wanting Coreberan, what style do his sides play ? I've only really watched the two play off games against a bang average Southampton side and his experienced side were outplayed and pretty crap.

I was initially unsure on RVN just because some of his quotes seemed a bit arrogant and self centred. I didn't know much about his managerial ability. Reading up yesterday and watching some interviews/tactics talks I was coming round to the idea but if he's turned down a managers job to be a coach at this stage of his career then I think we're better off - puts serious question marks on his determination and staying power that were already there from his departure from PSV.

I'd be happy with Corberan, Rosenior or Cifuentes. All young, modern managers who have done good jobs whilst still learning/developing and are on the up. You look at the managers that got promoted from the Championship last season and those are qualities they had. If RVN is out of the running there's not a "name" manager out there who has those qualities - so I hope Pace does the smart thing.

Sounds like RVN, Tudor and maybe Corberan was the final three and the board has gone for Tudor, hence RVN now heading to Man United?

Calling Southampton bang average seems a bit silly does it not? They were excellent against Leeds in the final and went 20 games unbeaten at one point in the season. WBA were poor in the play offs against them though. His style is mixed really, more Rafa Benitez than Marcelo Bielsa though.

From what I've seen his approach is a bit of a hybrid at West Brom - defensively he's quite similar to Dyche in that they use a low block and a high press, with quick direct attacks if they get a turnover. In possession, he's more Bielsa inspired and there's some good positional play in there which is the approach Kompany uses but Corberan hasn't had the quality squad to be able to really control games. I think he could be really interesting and with support from some coaches with experience of coaching possession (such as Jensen) offer something of a mid-ground that would get both the fans wanting a return to Dyche's approach and those wanting to stick to Kompany's principles on side.

If it works.

Who knows an ex team of his like juventus might come in and offer him a coaches role.

Tudor did his coaching badges with Jensen

The suggestion that there is no loyalty is a fallacy. There is very little loyalty, however where it exists it should be fully appreciated and cherished. That was one of the reasons that it didn't sit well with me when Dyche was sacked. He'd done a fantastic job and helped build the club. He wasn't supported financially and still stayed and did what he could. For that reason alone, I felt like we should have given him the chance to get us back up.
Ultimately Kompany gave us one fantastic season (at a lower level) and then last year was a disaster. We backed him with a fortune on players, backed him even though the results were calamitous, and then off he pops. The loyalty of players like Cork and Rodriguez (and many others) has been the backbone of the squad over the last few years. I'm a bit worried that as some of these characters start to leave the dressing room atmosphere that has been so strong will disappear. Once that ends, we could be in trouble.

Trying to think of a more frustrating period of without a manager, the search for the successor to Laws perhaps when it was pointing towards Lambert then he signed extension at Norwich. I think the mindset eventually changed to ....just give it to Stuart Gray.

And over thirteen years later Stuart Gray is still going strong at Fulham.

Exclusive UTC news

Igor Tudor to be new manager

Next 24 hours crucial, it’s really close

Won’t be announced for 21 days because he’s awaiting a work permit

He’s also working on Croatian tv for euros
It's time wind up's like you delete your account and find something better to do ;)

Clever with my wording, didn’t say ‘I’ve heard’ or ‘I’ve been told’ or ‘I believe that’

I was hopeful for RVN, but its not looking likely now. For me, the Long haired Scandanavian Prince Bo Henriksen looks like a good option.

He has at least 3 or 4 accounts on here. Always getting banned, so he just logs in to the next one.

Often has conversations between his different usernames, to back his posts up.
