It’s great to look at the fixtures and see winnable games! Love the championship. Really fancy Pompey away.

To be fair we do have a decent Xmas period with not much travelling, but it is sandwiched by Norwich on 14th December and consecutive away games at Plymouth and Portsmouth at the end of Jan early FebTheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 9:23 amFour away games in April. If you don't get those cameras out of Turf Moor I'll personally come down and burn them.

It looks like I will miss around 10 home midweek games as Saturday is the only day I can travel up

I’ll probably just go on the Wednesday… don’t need to be there the night beforeClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 9:02 amAll looking forward to a Tuesday night in Plymouth are we?

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets to kick off on Monday night at Kenilworth Road
Bit gutted Pompey and Plymouth away are both in winter, especially Plymouth being midweek.
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets to kick off on Monday night at Kenilworth Road
We have Sheffield United away on Boxing Day and Middlesbrough away 3 days later, and if either is put back a day for TV then so will the New Year's Day game be. So I suspect that those clubs playing on NYD will kick off at 3 pm, but we won't be one of them!

All the NYD fixtures are televised and will be spread. That’s why ours at Swansea in Jan 23 was moved to the 2nd because the previous game against Birmingham was televised.

I think we are forgetting that little of the fixture list and planning is done with the benefits of paying / travelling spectators in mind. Long gone are the days of Mr C E Sutcliffe (check him out on google - local man and Football League legend).

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets to kick off on Monday night at Kenilworth Road
Fixtures are very similar to last season. Tough games early on which if we don’t do well will put under pressure for rest of season. Last season we never recovered. Hopefully this season we will be more prepared!!

Not ideal at all but personally think we’ve played better away from home than at home the last two years.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 9:23 amFour away games in April. Not ideal at that stage of the season.
Things will and have changed since though.

If w get any on sky over Christmas and new year then I assume that almost guarantees Ewood to be Sunday 5thClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 11:29 amBank Holiday so all will be televised which suggests there will be various kick off dates and times. Two seasons ago we were due at Swansea on NYD but it was put back to the 2nd.

Decent away games over the festive period at least. Hopefully won't get moved to 12.30 kickoffs.

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets to kick off on Monday night at Kenilworth Road
Apart from Leeds away, I don’t think we could have been handed a tougher game.
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets to kick off on Monday night at Kenilworth Road
The fixtures are 'randomly' picked by a system, who'd have thought it'd pick Luton v Burnley who both aren't in the carabao cup the midweek after meaning sky can have it Monday night, it's amazing!

I believe this was my prediction in the earlier first fixture prediction thread.
I did not get the night correct though.

Anyone know why the home game against Hull on 12 Feb 2025 is on a Wednesday night?

In the sixties he would have threatened to Burn the cameras for the few coppers the BBC / ITV offered to screen games.
The income from Broadcasting matches today though would have him drooling.
