If it's between Bellamy and Parker then Bellamy all day long.
You want a man who's never managed opposed to a man who's got 2 promotions from the championship?

Im starting to think Parker and Lampard have offended a few on here.

The issue with going down the ‘head coach’ route is who’s making incoming signings, we can’t have someone making signings with no manager in place
I’d imagine the ‘head coach’ would have a similar say with incomings as a ‘manager’.

Kinda of interchangeable although I expect we’ll end up with a director of football in the fullness of time.

Barely, with a better squad.

The other season he was sacked after a 9-0 defeat, funny you dropped the claim that was better without comment...

Parker was sacked from both his promoted clubs then sacked from his last club after only 12 games.

I believe Bellamy would get us promoted. He knows the players and systems that got us promoted so well last time.

You’d hope so, which makes it more important we get the head coach / manager in asap to making signings

Was anything said at the fixture launch breakfast this morning, surely with people there something will have been said.
I'm still assuming the press are clutching at straws and there will be one or two names who they still don't know about, which gives me hope it won't be either of Parker or Bellamy. I'm also assuming there's still plenty going on behind the scenes

When your around football for a long time you see deals happen both slow and when things line up, extremely quick.

When you are 'gazumped' by a club it usually happens in a very relatively short space of time.

So why havnt United confirmed RVN yet?

I suspect he's not signed for them yet and may still be negotiating with us.

He might well know the players that got us promoted last time but many of those players are no longer here. And he don’t assume he had too much responsibility with Kompany.

Current players I should've said.

I still prefer Bellamy over someone sacked from his last job after 12 games.

The “mission “ is to get us up again
On that basis it has to be Parker over Bellamy given his track record in this League.

I don’t want Parker because I would worry about the premier league should we get promoted but I would 100% want Parker over Bellamy.

If Bellamy wanted to stay as a coach under Parker then so be it

I find it bizarre that on a few other threads there's things been said at the fixture breakfast this morning and nothing was said about the new manager;
- We've been told it's a betting firm as main sponsor
- We're signing a Brazilian LB who'll be announced in so many days.

Yet, the biggest elephant in the room wasn't spoken about?I'm not having that, especially if Matt was there talking, he's usually pretty open especially of possible sponsors etc were present

Incredible to you maybe, some others agree. All about opinions.

So I forget Kompany’s exact stats after 10 games but I recall not too many wins, couple of losses and lots of draws. He then went on to win the championship with 101 points. My point being that giving Bellamy 10 games and seeing where we are isn’t necessarily catastrophic to the season and possibly the right thing to do from a continuity perspective.
No problem with the opinion side of it. I have with anything else you've said. To paraphrase you said you couldn't see any reason not to give the job to Bellamy. Let's start with the fact he's managed as many professional games as you and I. He was on his way out of the club immediately after the season ended. That's 2 very significant 'reasons' against his appointment. There are others if you wish to be pedantic.
As for re- evaluating after 10 games; considering how long this current fiasco has go e on without making a choice, how long do you think it might take in, say, early October? Imagine terminating a manager's contract after 10 games. Bit harsh but probably not if that person has never managed before. And what sort of message does that send out to prospective applicants about the club?
I don't believe you have thought through even a little with your original post. Not looking for an argument because opinions count but I think yours are seriously flawed.

Clearly not as he followed up those prem failings by being Brugge's worst manager of the past 4 decades and getting sacked after 12 games.

I don't think anyone at the club did, players, fans, or board.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement. Fulham and Bournemouth fans hold him in similar esteem.

Had the squad to walk promotion both times and only just scraped up. That luck is as likely to run out as it us to repeat. Speak to Fulham and Bournemouth fans and ask their opinions of him.

The fact that the first 10 pages of this thread had just 1 or 2 posts suggesting Bellamy for the managers role suggests that the latest clamour for him to be appointed is simply by “default” and not by design. With Moyes, Cooper, Potter, being posters early preferences and having not even been in the reckoning, there seem few choices left and at least Bellamy is in the building for now (until Wales come knocking at the door).

Here we go.

I'll post this once because you're becoming incredibly tiresome. I did support Kompany, most fans did.

I was also critical when things failed last year. I was in the minority, I except that. But in hindsight I, and some of the others who were critical (but not "negative"), were also bang on the money. The things I was critical about included player turnover, player selections and tactics that did not work for us at a higher level against better opposition. Out of interest my bigger frustrations have been with the direction the club is heading in as opposed to who the manager is.

I'm quite happy with my position though thanks, if you're happy with the whole we will be fine and stay up we just need to get these first games our the way/ it's not reflective of our season etc then fine- but you'd think it might have hit you in the face by now that the criticism was fair and you were wrong. I'm not saying everyone's criticisms have been fair- but mine certainly have. I try and outline every point why I think the way I do.

If you want to be a baby and just go wahhh you never supported Kompany then feel free. But it's obviously an attempt to try and smere what I'm saying. I did support Kompany, I support every manager of BFC whilst I am confident they are the best person for the role.

Kompany was for us in the Championship. But wasn't for us in the PL. Bellamy just isn't fit for us at all in my opinion and I've been very fair in explaining why.
Basically you supported him when it was easy because we were winning every week, soon as he made a couple of errors in the transfer window and results weren’t what you wanted, your support wasn’t there.

Do they really, plenty of managers still out there and I truly believe at least one name isn't yet in the press.
Remind me how many managers Bayern tried before they went for VK?
I'm sure if Pace hasn't got the one he wants he won't go for an easy option in Parker or Bellamy. I firmly believe there is still lots going on behind the scenes and our squad will be ready for whoever takes charge.

I still think... just imo OGS would do a very good job as our manager.
I remember Dyche saying that OGS had transformed his Utd players and give them their footballing freedom back.
Would suit our young squad that.
OGS currently at 16/1....Lamps at 20/1.

Was Hendriksen ever in the running? Rydstrom got added to the sky bet odds because someone thought him and Jensen had worked together at Kalmar when in fact they had never worked together.

The mirror or mail article today about Bellamy and Parker could of been published at any point in the last month, there was no fresh update in there at all that we don’t already know

We got around half of what we supposedly wanted for him so I’m certain a fee for an in work manager would be negotiable.

The difference being, we are into pre-season and need to get it sorted pretty soon.
The manager will have control if he wants to move. We had no option but to negotiate and finally accept the offer from Bayern. Kompany was leaving no matter what.

We got around half of what we supposedly wanted for him so I’m certain a fee for an in work manager would be negotiable.
The compensation clause stated the club that takes our manager pays out his contract, hence the 4 x €5m = €20m figure. 4 years salary. He’d seen through one year so the desired figure was 3 x €5m = €15m.

We settled on an initial fee of €12m plus add ons to follow.

Fag packet maths but we did pretty well and may well achieve €15m ish in the end.

We did do well. The figure was quoted at £20 million but it was clear Bayern were never going to pay that. The point I was making is that with the boot on the other foot we won’t be having to pay the full amount.

Until there is confirmation from Manchester Utd that RVN has joined their management team then it is hearsay he is not still in the running for us. Otherwise am sure Corberan would jump at the chance

Got to get to the promised land first, I'm sure he learnt a few lessons from his prem failings
Well, it took a long time but at last reference made to learning 'a few lessons'. Up there with 'finding small pockets' and 'playing between the lines'
