Georgia 9/1 to beat Spain and 200/250/1 to win the competition….got me thinking after last nights fantastic performance 🙂

I remember Denmark won the competition some years ago as rank outsiders and a substitute entry.
To think I was moaning when I got Georgia in the works sweep!!

Rangnick is getting a real tune out of Austria despite them missing several key players injured before the Tournament start including captain and talisman Alaba. 80/1 at the start now down to 14/1 in places.

Southgate hasn't half had some lucky draws at the last few tournaments. Still think we've got a good chance to win it if we shape ourselves.

Realistically, the sight of that draw and potential run to the final should be the real spark to get this team going.

Somehow I can foresee Southgate and the general malaise around the England team to turn it into a damp squib.

100% agree.

Southgate is so fixated on the Kalvin Philips role that he's missing the bigger picture. He started TAA in the first two and subbed him for Gallagher as our first change. He then starts Gallagher and subs him for Mainoo, again our first change. It's as if he's convinced himself that everything else will magically click into place if he works out that position. I'm 99% certain he'll start the same front four again on Sunday. The only change will be Mainoo for Gallagher and that'll sum him up.

He certainly has, can’t think of many tough games in his time. Well, not that we won anyway. Germany in last Euros maybe, although they weren’t a great side either.

Last time we had a draw quite this easy, we got knocked out by Iceland.

Certainly the only 'quality' teams I can think we've played in Southgate's tournaments have been the 2018 Croatia side, Italy and France who have each, in turn, knocked us out. Germany in the last WC were a shadow of themselves, even so we managed to make Scotland look like world beaters in the same tournament.

It seems England have been given a bye to the final - just a couple of tricky games against the Dog & Duck second 11 or such like and we lift the trophy. Even Gareth can’t muck this up - can he?

I don't really understand this mindset. England have avoided some of the bigger names, but not necessarily the better teams. Austria finished above France, Romania finished above Belgium - these have both ended up in England's side of the draw. England won the group which means they earned a more favourable draw.

Bye to the final? What are you on? There are no gimmes, and if you want to go down the 'big name' route England could well have to get past Italy and Netherlands to reach the final. Not exactly a bye is it.

Willy Sagnol, has his name cropped up in the betting yet?

The way that Gareth allowed Slovenia to 'have' that crucial point which meant we played Slovakia in the last 16 is management genius.

Georgia 200/1 to win the competition online but only 150/1 at the bookies.

Switzerland v Italy up shortly and while the Swiss impressed me in one of their earlier games I will be surprised if they go through at the expense of the Italians today.

I missed the first 15-20 minutes but, from what I saw, Switzerland were very dominant. Italians defended fairly well but offered just about nowt when they had the ball.
Surely there's something better to come from Italy in H2?

The Italians have been given a football lesson first half by Switzerland.

Surely the Italians can’t be this bad second half can they?

1-0 to the Swiss.

Don’t give up on England or France yet. Italy won a world cup after playing poorly and drawing all 3 group games in 1982 and similar bad starts have had strong finishes.
This is tournament football, it doesn’t matter how you get through just get through.
Whoever comes through the other half will be exhausted by the final.
