Re: Next manager
As far as the Next Manager odds provided by bookmakers is concerned I believe that a manager has to be in charge for the first 10 games for there to be a payout. From some of the recent comments it could well be that Bellamy finds himself in situ for that period of time as interim manager whilst the manager search continues.
Re: Next manager
What names would you be happy for us to be linked to?by Blyclaret
From the start of the search for a new manager I’m very disappointed in the names licked with job.

No nearer after a few weeks of interviews and second interviews?Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 9:35 amRush it? Not quite sure I said that. I said it is quite reasonable to start a debate as to why we’re now a month since VK left and still no closer to somebody in charge, especially with the amount of work that needs doing both in terms of player movement and tactical planning.
I reckon we’re a few weeks nearer

No bedwetting here, but given the imperative we have to get back up this year I don't think it's unreasonable to have someone in place for pre season given how long it's been since Kompany was effectively gone

Re: Next manager
Just referencing the first 6 pages of this thread provides the answer Moyes, Cooper, Mark Robins, Danny Rohl, Potter etc. etc.
The fact that at least 2 of these names distanced themselves from the role from the outset and others are unavailable means that it could be Bellamy by default.
Re: Next manager
Why isn't OGS even in the Sky betting odds, given the Beehole End Podcast just confirmed he has had a second interview?

Re: Next manager
His plan was for one week away with potentially two games. The rest of pre season was at home with all games behind closed doors.ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 7:17 pmThe preseason plan under VK was to go abroad. Sounds like that's changed from what other posters have said.

Would be great to have a friendly or two back at the Turf.

The South West is quite nice at this time of the year
Re: Next manager
I meant actual realistic names, not delusional, pie-in-the-sky, delusions of grandeur for 3 of those names you've referred to in Moyes, Cooper and Potter!by kentonclaret
Just referencing the first 6 pages of this thread provides the answer Moyes, Cooper, Mark Robins, Danny Rohl, Potter etc. etc.

And the other 2 that might be more realistic in Mark Robins and Danny Rohl aren't that inspiring either like the names being linked currently, to be honest.

Re: Next manager
OGS now appeared on SkyBet at 20/1. Got to be worth a punt given we know he has interviewed twice.

Re: Next manager
Quite happy with the potential of OGS. Good with fans. Works well with young players. Creates a positive atmosphere. Would be quite excited to see how things went. Bellamy would be a ridiculous appointment. I am sure we can prise a foreign manager from a club away if we have to. I just cannot see it being him, this idea of by default is not how a professional outfit operates. If it is Bellamy or Parker/Lampard you'd take the person with prior experience. Experience is going to count with the nature of our squad and the necessity for promotion. I don't want Lampard but he's definitely currently more capable than Bellamy.

Re: Next manager
I don’t mind people standing up …as long as it’s not in seated areas.
Re: Next manager
According to talk sport both Lampard and Rosenior turned us down .
Re: Next manager
Voted for OGS in the original poll. Thought he was out of it so glad that he’s still under consideration.

Not sure if you're hinting there will be or not but we asked the league for an away match first up to give enough time for the pitch to grow.Holtyclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 11:35 amI have a feeling we may have a home friendly this time to ‘test’ the new pitch.
Or do they have to have a test event on them before the league allow it to host a game?

I don't know how true talk sport's report is, or the reasons for them turning us down if it is true. But I can understand some candidates turning us down if they can't bring in their own assistant or other backroom staff.
Re: Next manager
6 -1 for OGS now. Means nothing and probably speculation from here spreading, just shows how week the market is, and how good a job the Club are doing keeping under wraps. Just a shame the RVN information got out.

Re: Next manager
Yep...OGS for me all day long.
Have wanted him since day one.
Gave all the experienced and young players the freedom to revive their own playing game at Utd.
Dyche was a massive admirer of him for what it's worth.
He would be great for our young squad.
Big game player, big name, Treble winner etc etc...what more could a club like BFC ask for.

Re: Next manager
That sounds to me like the agents of Lampard and Rosenior are getting their spin out there then

Re: Next manager
So Rosenior has turned down both us and Sunderland? Hahaha, not a chance.

Cannot believe Rosenior turned us down. Lampard possibly as unless he got us promoted then his stock really would be low.

They might have pulled out of talks, but we haven't offered them the job.
Re: Next manager
I'd be very happy with OGS. He was a breath of fresh air at United and had them playing some great stuff until they brought in the words biggest cock and disrupted the squad.

Maybe the lads on the podcast (that I’m currently listening to and enjoying) are having a bit of fun to see if people will put money on OGS. It’s certainly worked!

Thank you
Of course, I knew it would be obvious, just couldn't think who it might be

Re: Next manager
I expect so , why would someone go for a job interview if they wanted a break from football.

Dear Alan Pace
Please find attached my CV. I believe you have a vacancy you are struggling to fill and I'm available for interview.
I have an extensive experience of football playing for many years in Blackburn Combination division 2 and the Hyndburn Division 1. I've included this on my CV but without the names of the Teams - to be frank I'm getting on a bit and it was a long time ago.
I also managed at a high level in the Haslingden 5 a side league at Haslingden Sports Centre. I played a 1-2-2 with 2 at the back and 2 up front. My star centre forward - Basher Smith - played a Harry Kane role: kind of slow and wandering around the pitch a bit lost even before Harry was born.
I'm willing to work for a lot less than Vincent Kompany. Unfortunately, I only speak one language (ecky thump) so I need a translator for any players further afield than the likes of Chorley or Ramsbottom.
If you need a manager that can lose a lot of games and talk sh*te afterwards to replace VK: I'm your man.
Regards
ClaretPete
