"Happy Glastonbury" to all those who celebrate!

IPlayer really comes into its own on Glastonbury weekend and the weeks afterwards where you can watch back scores of sets.

It really is, even if i'll be drunkenly shouting at them during some sections where they witter on rather than putting more bands on screen.

No-one watches it to see 2 random DJs prattling on

The BBC Coverage just shows how good they are, especially if you watched IOW Festival coverage on Sky Arts, I felt awfully sorry for Sean Keaveny and Edith Bowman, both deserved so much better from Sky.

Probably an appropriate time to post my annual "bring back Carter USM and The Levellers as headliners" post.

Unless you're one those who don't celebrate Glastonbury.

In which case you might think the amount they spent on their annual pilgrimage for presenters and crew to the secular holy spot is a bit OTT. And perhaps influenced by the fact that seemingly everybody at the BBC does celebrate Glastonbury?

It's both these things. Fantastic and overdone.

Out of interest, are you named in homage to the band The Family Cat, as I’m pretty sure they supported Carter USM when I saw them?!

I am indeed and I saw them support Carter too. An absolutely stonking live band.

Via the BBC my annual glimpse into what is new and relevant. Sadly not a radio user.
Always pick up two or three acts I’ve never heard of before and they end up on my wish list for Xmas, wish solves problems.
Live or tv have a great weekend all.

I think the music offering on the BBC on the whole is worth the licence fee.

I always see acts on Later… that I’ve never heard of or a genre I’m not really into and end up getting into them.

Couldn’t think of ANYTHING worse than being there, (crazy statement from someone who LOVES live music) but I do like to catch up on the bands I like (and some I’ve never heard of) that play there.

Have a great time if it’s your thing.

Paul Heaton's set this afternoon goes to show, once again, that he is one of the greatest songwriters of our time, up there with McCartney in my eyes.
Sadly Jacqui Abbot is no longer singing with him, but Rianne Downey is pretty good in her place.

There was an extremely offensive flag on display earlier, a BRFC one.

I’m no fan of Dexys but can only assume his ‘in ears’ (monitor system) can’t be working, because I can’t understand how a band would allow a front man so out of tune to continue.

Strangely, I once was a huge fan but I found myself thinking he's a terrible song writer over the last few years, not sure why I've changed my taste so much. Watched him live a few times and I'm really not keen on his new stuff

I don’t know. I like her albums and she can clearly sing, but there’s something lacking about this as a headline performance.

She's rare in that she is naturally attractive and doesn't obviously need a load of makeup. It's also rare in this day and age for a woman to have eyebrows natural like she has. Many shave them off and tattoo them back on these days..madness. :D

I think it's aimed at the younger section of the crowd but I get what you are talking about, considering some of the tracks are quite disco oriented it's coming across a bit flat even though I do think she is singing very well considering all the dancing. Good luck to her though, non offensive and does actually have a very good voice for the style of music
