People will still blame Southgate though, because that’s the mindset they have and I cba with that

They’ve been doing it for years, though. Not just this tournament.

It’s exactly what Southgate wants.

If you can't see why Southgate gets criticised during and after games like today then, yes, it's better if you can't be arsed.

Gareth should be thanking his lucky stars tonight.

Surely, just surely, he can see what needs changing next game. Surely?

We’ve all seen it in the FA Cup where a team is seconds away from being knocked out in the early rounds then goes on to win at Wembley.
The bookies will make us favourites to beat Switzerland but on today’s performance I’m not convinced we should be.

That was awful. The way we've played these 4 games has been crap. We aren't growing in to the tournament, not really creating much and the team is so unbalanced it's frightening. Luck will only get you so far unless you're Greece 2004. Just hope this will spark the team. Cannot keep starting that team that started and/or playing that formation. If we do Switzerland will beat us.

Got to hand it to Bellingham and Kane. Bellingham’s arrogance is annoying but he’s a big influence and is the reason we got to extra time. Kane is so hungry for goals and tonight he won us the game.
Maybe no other country have match winners like these two?
Massive gaps in the rest of the team and an incompetent manager is all we need to overcome to win the tournament .

And you can't understand that managers are supposed to manage.
This seems like player-power in the squad, it's the managers job to stamp his authority on it.

The buck stops with the manager - Southgate's tactics today were inexplicable. We, and Southgate in particular, were very fortunate today. The players are hardly likely to speak out against the manager during a tournament.

Was it or was it not Southgate's decision to take one recognised left back that isn't fit and have zero natural width on the left handside until the 66th minute of the 4th match of the tournament?

True. The game was crying out for 2-3 subs at half time.
And as soon as Foden goes more central he puts the ball in the feckin net! Offside yes, but we always looked better when Foden in the middle of the park.

Is it the players who pick the team ? Is it the players who make sure Foden plays out of position ? Is it the players who refuse to come off when Gareth's is desperate to make substitutions ? We could go on about the minutes Gordon and Watkins have had , but it's pointless .

It's not Southgate that made a pretty significant number of misplaced or overhit passes.

I've got no particularly gripe with Foden but I doubt whether he overhits as many passes for City as he does for England.

England are lucky to have a player like Bellingham who really doesn't seem to do much in 90 minutes but who has this unbelievable knack of popping up and scoring. Kane is similar with the difference being he's a centre-forward. Not got a clue which position Bellingham played.

Slovakia were extremely well organised with Lobotka at the heart of everything. Very hard on them.

It's Southgate who picks the squad and the team, makes substitutions (or not), plays players out of position and sets negative and risk averse tactics.

Didn’t matter in the end.

Germany we’re lucky that they got dubious decisions against them.

We scored 2 goals without any help whatsoever. They should have had a man sent off.

Spain currently play “pretty” football, but losing. Let’s see how this one goes.

He’s literally just admitted it himself on 5 Live! Listen to his interview.

He hooked Kane and Bellingham at the end of the first half of ET to bring on Konsa and Gallagher to shore the team up and see the game out.

He does it all the time.
