Good shot for the Spanish leveller 1-1.

Great game so far.
And good commentary team this one. Much better than that other pair.

I am definitely enjoying it as I think of it as more than just England. I would love us to win but had we gone out tonight I'd still be watching the remaining games.

I’ve got this dreadful feeling that Southgate will pick almost the same team for the next game apart from the current injuries that started tonight.

The fact that we have people defending that is unbelievable. Save your money next season if you’re defending that because I’d rather you spend your money on something you understand

To be fair I've not read anything from someone who knows a bit about the game who has defended it. He was seconds away from a deserved defeat. Luck got him out of it and it wasn't even luck from being offensive.

I think Southgate has been dreadful. But you equally don't make lots of sudden changes after winning. One thing I will keep banging on about until somebody throws Southgate an email: Play Foden central.

I sent him an e-mail and he was so impressed with my tactical nous that he advised me to apply for the Burnley job.

I said will do, I might end up in Germany you never know.

You've lost me. I thought that was obvious.
We were poor pretty much the entire game and kept giving the ball away time after time. We were seconds away from deservedly being knocked out. How can anybody think we were anything other than lucky to have made it 1-1 with seconds to go?

Slovakia barely attempted to get out of their own half after they scored. We were awful but we hit the post and Kane missed a sitter, a draw after 90 minutes was a fair result.

Not when you leave it as late as we did. It had the Iceland game written all over it.
But we can agree to disagree.

Georgia look good but not good enough. EDIT - Spain score just as I post to prove me right.

As for England, probably a worse performance than any Burnley performance last season, and more inept tactics than anything VK came up with. The way we passed it out from the back using the deep central midfielder was awkward, far more so than Cullen does. Anyway, I found it interesting.

All goals count equally between the first and last whistle, doesn’t matter when it’s scored.

Either the tactics need to change or the starting line up needs to change. Because one of them isn't working. All 4 performances have been poor.

That's you saying exactly that: It was good enough.

You also said:
"All goals count equally between the first and last whistle, doesn’t matter when it’s scored"

I think I've already made it clear, I disagree with you. Watch the game - we may have been level with them on possession and chances, but it was like the Iceland game - we were seconds of "How the hell did we lose that!"

You think a 1-1 draw against a team 40 places below us in the rankings is good enough? You need to be more ambitious!

I maintain, while it was a fair (90 minute) result, a draw still isn’t good enough.

We were putting them under pressure and scored through a piece of brilliance, that’s not luck. We deserved the (90 minute) draw but should be doing a lot better against a team like Slovakia.

Frightening contrast .

Not saying we can play as fluently but with the attacking players we have we sure can go at teams and batter their goal down like Spain have tonight

Spain have a perfectly balanced team, round pegs in round holes. On paper it’s inferior to England’s best 11.

Spain are so much better than us it's not even funny.

Look at how they effortlessly move the ball between the lines - every player knows their role, what gap to fill and when to make a run.

They haven't even gotten out of 2nd gear here.

There no getting away from how **** that was. I’ve never seen as many players have hold of the ball and throw their hands up in frustration about lack of options.

Bellingham scored a cracker but was dreadful otherwise.
Kane scored a header but was abysmal.

Big decisions ahead.

They are definitely playing a lot better than us and look a far better team. In terms of talent on the pitch/in the squad I think we are stronger.
