What parallel universe have I walked in to where people are advocating for Ollie McBurnie and Scotty ******* Parker to orchestrate our promotion push?!

Probably because he knows is stock is so low after three consecutive sackings, no fans from his previous clubs have a kind word to say about him , has a reputation for being arrogant and hasn’t been linked to any other clubs because nobody else is interested.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 10:41 amIf the new guy is happy just running joes cafe rather than itching for a Michelin star then they might be better for us.
For me Parker wouldn’t be someone always looking for the next job
Probably why Parker wouldn’t be looking for another job because he won’t be able to believe his luck in getting ours.

I just put £20 on Bellamy - it took the bet and instantly logged me out with a Lechyd Da! message???

It is strange how low Parker’s stock appears to be given he has one of the best records in the Championship in recent years.northeastclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 12:36 pmProbably because he knows is stock is so low after three consecutive sackings, no fans from his previous clubs have a kind word to say about him , has a reputation for being arrogant and hasn’t been linked to any other clubs because nobody else is interested.

I think arrogance could be labelled why every name that has been linked to our job. RVN arrogant, kompany certainly came across arrogant last season.northeastclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 12:36 pmProbably because he knows is stock is so low after three consecutive sackings, no fans from his previous clubs have a kind word to say about him , has a reputation for being arrogant and hasn’t been linked to any other clubs because nobody else is interested.

Parker isn’t my choice at all but if he’s the option other than Bellamy or Lampard I would choose Parker every time
Re: Next manager
Maybe he doesn't want a mid-table job (Sunderland for example) while no other promotion chasing club (Leeds, Soton, Leicester) wanted him.

Although I can understand why some people don’t want Bellamy to be our next permanent manager, I think we have to give him some credit for steadying the boat for us . He could have just walked away but he decided he had a loyalty towards the players.
I do find some of the things being said about him rather disrespectful.

Possibly, but I was more thinking of why there has been no enthusiasm whatsoever for him amongst the fans. There’s a visceral recoiling by lots of people whenever he’s been mentioned before.

If it's between Parker who has promoted a team twice from the Championship, and Bellamy, then all those with common sense will agree Parker is the better option. A good option? Time will tell. But the better option.

Out of interest, re: McBurnie, who would you you sign instead that has a better record than 9 G/A in 21 games in the Premier League playing in the only team worse than us? That we could afford of course.distortiondave wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 12:32 pmWhat parallel universe have I walked in to where people are advocating for Ollie McBurnie and Scotty ******* Parker to orchestrate our promotion push?!

If he could cut it with them in the premier league with them I’m pretty sure he’d be a good asset to us in the Championship?

I'm.still fingers crossed for OGS.
Big name, educated by Fergie, big game player, creative and brings out the best in the younger players of the squad.
Dyche was full of admiration for him the way he dealt with the young players in the squad which would benefit us greatly.
He's hardly mentioned on this thread which indicates a lot don't really consider him.

I’m still convinced it’s Kasper. If it’s was Parker for instance there would be no hold up, he’s not exactly doing anything so the deal would and could have been done sometime ago, likewise others. Anyway if I had money to throw away I’d have it all on Kasper.

I still don't see how a Parker or a Bellamy fits the way the club have been doing things in terms of transfers. If they want to attract young players to sell for a profit then neither of those lads will have the pull (imho)

Re: Next manager
I think it's pointless comparing that way. If we appoint Bellamy, and if he does well, that won't have anything to do with how Maresca did. If he fails, it won't have to do anything with the fact that Jason Tindall failed as a manager aa few years ago.

Re: Next manager
We can still attract players to our club by saying that the current Bayern Munich manager chose us and it didn't do his career any harm. Same with Maatsen and Tella.
Sell the club to them by saying how ambitious the owners are to grow the club by returning to the Premier League.
At the moment, our stock is as high as it has ever been to the neutral, although it would have been even higher if still in the Prem.

Re: Next manager
Why are we selling players without a manager in situ?
What if the incoming manager wants those players, it is not going very well is it?
Starting to think Pace has bitten off more than he can chew with this new job.

Who is making the decisions though Tony, i dont think any self respecting manager will want someone not qualified to be making these decisions making them for him though. This has disaster written all over it.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 3:14 pmI think we are bringing in a head coach. Maybe he will have no say on who we sign and sell.
If we are letting Bellamy guide the chairman then what is his role apart from caretaker, where does he go once the new man comes in if he does?
I cant see any good manager with a decent track record wanting to work with a load of people he doesnt know especially with a chairman with two relegations on his cv.
Re: Next manager
Maybe it's Bellamy beginning to sell players because he's been given the job, just not signed the contract yet.

I'm assuming you hadn't heard of him until this summer, which is probably the same for the majority on here. He's more of a coach than manager although his experience has shown him to be a good leader. He's literally Denmark's Head Coach. He's also well known in the footballing world for his studious preparation, analysis and coaching. For me it was an interview he did where he said he spent 12 months planning before taking over at Denmark, just lead me to think he’s the one fully in control and not just the head coach. Maybe because he’s slightly older makes me feel like he’s more of a manager. Could be totally wrong and from your post looks like I may have miss read himFoshiznik wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 3:35 pmI'm assuming you hadn't heard of him until this summer, which is probably the same for the majority on here. This thread should be labelled Be Careful What You Wish For and put on one of the announcements at the top. Then every time we complain about something and end up with worse, it should be added. Would make some interesting reading
.
In all seriousness, people were turning there noses up at Moyes and Lampard at the start and now the likley looking candidates are Bellamy or Parker.
