My partner has agreed a sale of her house and we've agreed terms to
purchase a new home together.

Happy days - counteracts the "divorce" thread I suppose. :) :) :)

The other good news associated with the above is that
we're moving back to Burnley from that enclave of Rovers fans, Darwen.

To be fair, they've been a good crowd on the Close, and they've kept my secret
from the patrons of the local pub.

And yes, it is a bungalow. Well guessed that man.

12 days, started the 19th, finished 30th, 67th birthday.

I loved every second of it, despite getting shin splints in my left leg from Danby Wiske.

It was spitting on and off for 3 hours on the 29th, the only sign of rain I had the whole trek.

It meant the views, especially in the Lakes, were spectacular. Dressing for the weather is easy, but to be on top of the fells and only see 10ft in front of you would have been sad.

I finally got three chickens the other weekend, which are gaining lots of attention at the front.

And it's caught on, as someone else in my team now has three too!

In a plastic cage (with run) so hopefully no bad news impending from the curious foxes.

Careful Pompey, chicken owners aren't popular in some parts of Lancashire 😁

I've had a letter from myself written in 2044. It's about the current election and says I may have voted for Reform.

Of course I'm pleased to know that I'm still about and capable of writing something coherent (an improvement you might say!) but puzzled that I may have voted for Reform as I don't have any intention of doing so.

Could it be a wind up? Surely not.

Of course I will write back as I'd like to know more about how I've done in the intervening twenty years but I'm not sure where to address it. Possibly Leeds which is the address on the envelope.

My third novel in my fantasy trilogy is now with my editors - to be published late August. This brings an end to five years of blood, sweat, tears, angst, heartache, pride and lord knows how many other emotions. I have managed to write these books surviving a marriage break up, divorce, covid, moving house twice, putting kids through GCSEs, single-parenting, and all consuming day job and of course two relegations and a promotion.

If you are interested, the first two books are here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BWSFYF6H? ... sb_pc_tkin - sorry couldn't resist a cheeky plug :D
