Of all the names that have been mentioned, Parker would be a relief if he is appointed. This seems like it's been in the works for some time.

No reports on the BBC about our new manager/head coach so that means we haven’t appointed one yet so stop getting your nickers in a twist 😀

Well, if it is to be Parker I wish him well.
He has some good young players to work with, could be an exciting season.

As a season ticket holder who went and watched every god awful performance last season, I will support Parker. The idea of a young English manager coming to us with a point to prove at a hard working town just feels right. If he shows the passion he had as a player towards the fans after every win then he will soon win over the fans unsure of him.

I don't think, or I hope at least, once he's appointed that everyone will be behind him. I'm sure they will. He certainly wasn't my first choice, but fans tend to think a little more romantically. Do we really have any idea whether RVN or Hjolmund would do better? Not really.

Wouldn’t be my choice and I cannot articulate as to why that is, but…we desperately need promotion and he has (however it’s been achieved) delivered that twice. We need an appointment now, so I’ll take this at this point because it’s getting ridiculous. Good luck to Scott (I absolutely refuse to call him Scottie).
I have just come off the phone with him and he’s absolutely thrilled with your decision.

It’s Scotty.

The fact he has a point to prove and it could well be his last opportunity at this level shouldn't be lost. As someone put it on twitter, if he was called Scottio Van Parkeroy then people would be happy

Certainly wouldn’t have been my choice and I’m a little surprised that we’ve not opted for more of a name, considering the apparent approach of ALK.

At least we have a manager with a track record of getting teams promoted from the Championship.

Like him or not, enjoy his football or not, we have to give him a fair crack of the whip. He’s inherited a squad with potential, let’s just hope he can do what Kompany failed to do last season - turn them into a team.

Don’t get me wrong the thought of having RVN as manager excited me more than the kompany appointment but I think that’s just the nostalgia from the Tuesday night ITV coverage of champs league that RVN always seemed to score. But he would 100% have his next job in mind.

For me Parker if he starts well could be a manager that sticks around for a while and we becoming that hardworking annoying club from the north that everyone in the prem hated to play against but with a touch of style

We’re overlooking the fact that Parker will be working with Henrik Jensen, which may help to evolve his style of play.

And Parker will also have a massive point to prove. He’s bombed in the Prem and also in Belgium. He may not have too many chances to manage in a top league again.

Not my first choice, but let’s get behind him.

So we have had the picture of our potential new manager at the airport - anybody found him eating locally and enjoying a local pub yet?

I seem to recall there was great interest/fear in VK's half time team talk - so to carry on the spirit of things that we like to see leading up to the potential appointment - here is a half time team talk whilst managing Bournemouth.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNHIQxN ... mierLeague

And the pre match talk with Fulham against Liverpool

Plenty of people on this board it seems have never made a mistake in life judging by the comments. I’m sure if you asked Scott now he’d say he’s made plenty, club Brugge probably being one of them but at least he had the balls to step out of his comfort zone and take a job in a different country, fair enough he failed but so have may others who have gone abroad. People will say he failed In the prem, Kompany absolutely stunk it out last season, it happens. The fact is you don’t win two promotions out of this league with two different squads by fluke. There’s some managerial qualities in there somewhere. The break he has had will hopefully have given him time to work out what went wrong in previous roles and why to ensure it doesn’t happen again and in turn he can hopefully become a better manager. Get behind him and the team, he might just surprise a few.

Hahaha tbf I was told that Lampard was going to training ground the Monday after soccer aid to have his pictures done and interviews before he went to the euros.

Also that Taylor was nailed on for Everton.

Lucky I didn’t lump on Lampard, but I did fall for the bo Hendrikson link and stuck a tenner on him at 100/1

As much as results didn’t go well, he will of learned a lot in his spell abroad and could of picked up some coaching tips or sessions that he might use moving forwards

Scott Parker , Scott Minto , Scott Arfield or Scotty Scheffler whoever it ends up being I will back them regardless of wether I wanted them or not.

Whoever the main man is is becoming a custodian of Burnley football club , give them the support they need . UTC

I can definitely see the similarities.

We get a manager who none of the fans want. It will only end badly.

Underwhelming is one thing, but this guy is disliked by many. I have only heard bad stories about him as a person.

I still refuse to believe the Pace would be this naive.
I don’t see how it can’t be true with so many reporting it.

I think he’s really, really screwed this up. His lucks run out maybe.

I wasn’t really making a suggestion. Just pointing out they played together at West Ham. Although it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility that Bellamy stays on if Parker is given the job.

Great record.

9-0.

Yes, they lost 9-0.

Seems like a great manager.

That's an absolute rascal of a cardigan he was wearing in the 9-0 defeat to Liverpool.

I wonder what sort of cardigan he might wear for Luton away. Hopefully a bit more of a butch looking one. Maybe a cable knit with a shawl collar or something.

As much as results didn’t go well, he will of learned a lot in his spell abroad and could of picked up some coaching tips or sessions that he might use moving forwards
What will he have learned from getting beat most weeks? He might have learned to ask for a coffee or beer in their language but absolutely nothing that is going to be of benefit to us, short term.or long term. A incredibly naive mistake of the worst kind.
