Not necessarily.
Might have been identified as No.1 a while ago, but we just ran the rule over the rest to see if there was anybody better.

Guess we'll never know.

Why?

That's just stupid. Like we should have no opinion on anything?? Parker is a disastrous choice, why should we support him?
Should we support Weghorst too?
Of course I - and I assume the vast majority of supporters- will support Weghorst 100% if he wears the shirt
To do otherwise would be unthinkable for most of us who have followed the team through thick and thin for the best part of 60 years
Never been a fan of Parker but he gets my full support too if he’s appointed.

It goes without saying that I'll get behind him regardless but this is a very miserable signing for me.

Perhaps I have allowed myself to be seduced by it all but it seems every man and his dogs "project" is to unearth foreign gems, blood them in the style de rigueur and then sell them on for a lovely profit

Problem we have is that we're a bit behind the curve with that, so I'd like us to have a think about being the side that bloods the leaders of these types of sides as well as bringing through the spotty yowths too.

The ones that know this progressive style of play, know just how to manage these soft souls fragile little male egos, the ones that we aren't all that bothered about going.

Kompany turned out to be a perfect example of that, but just would have been nicer for one more year to leave on a straight edge.

That's my reasons for a being a bit underwhelmed by Parker.

The other part I'm concerned about Is that I don't think we're going to lose as many big hitters as some seem convinced we will. I think the players that we'll end up will be able to win promotion but they'll need an arm round their shoulders and being made to feel like theyre 10ft tall after what was a chastening, demotivating and in some cases humiliating season for some of them. Not sure Parker is your man for that.

Strikes me more of a Keane, Steve Evans, abrasive style personality and feel that's not a good fit. Hopefully I'm totally wrong.

If this turns out to be true and Tony doesn’t use the headline ‘Parker Pens Deal’ in his article I’ll be very annoyed!

I'm whelmed I tell you, whelmed.

Under or over?, it don't matter as I, like the rest of us are mere passengers on the good ship BFC.
Captain Pace and Chief Petty Officer Parker at the wheel.
Iceberg dead ahead?, who knows! 😆 🤣 😂

Are we accepting random football fans moaning on Reddit as some sort of authority for how good a manager is? If so then we will have to go for Pep or Klopp to find a manager who isn't moaned about on there.

Who did you want guys.

Parker has got out of this league twice, the only other Mangers to do that in recent times are Dyche and Farke and he's at leeds.

Bellemy has no experience therfore a risk
Lampard hasn't proved anything, perhaps he didn't fancy it
RVN well he chose a 2 bit coaching role.

Even Robins and Coberan would have been a risk, but was willing to take that

I said a few days ago if it’s Parker why would it take this length of time to employ him, he was out of work wasn’t he? Mention was made of time to get his back room staff sorted, I don’t get that either, it could be done in days.

I think, judging by this thread, most people wanted a chino-wearing Scandinavian software developer with tortoiseshell glasses who has a video on YouTube made by a spotty 13 year old which goes into painful detail about his tactical systems and patterns of play.

To be fair it sounds to me like they've followed a fairly thorough process and finally got our man only to be gazumped.

It is getting to the point where we need someone in the door though, and he seems the best of a bad bunch.

I would hope we continue to look for new candidates personally, he doesn't need to know that he's thought of as a stop gap

Bellamy would have played with Parker at West Ham. Every chance that Bellamy could still be part of the back room staff.

So an average of 85 points, good enough on average for at least the playoffs

Would be good if Parker gets on with Bellamy and can keep him on.

A couple of his staff stayed with Bournmouth when he got sacked.

Jeez! Parker’s not even confirmed by the club yet, and half of the comments about his potential are negative.
I say ‘good luck’ to him, and look forward to promotion again next season.
I mean, we could have employed Southgate!

Bellamy looking to Wales. His path is apparently cleared. Perhaps the Board was waiting for that piece of the jigsaw.

I seem to remember Dyche being a very underwhelming appointment at the time 🤔

You may well be right Martin, my thought process is that Ruud was the man till he wasn't and we've had to go back to the drawing board.

Nothing other than speculation though 8-)
Yeah I do think they decided on RVN then united came in and Parker was the guy the liked the most from the initial interview process. I don’t believe for one second Lampard and rosenior ruled themselves out of the job

And people were very critical because he took time to get going, something he never let us forget.

We will probably have to be very patient.

Pretty obvious that parker isn't our first choice but he’s still got a decent record. Better than kompany and his season in the championship went well.

Lets get behind him and the team. Trust Pace and the board to make the right decisions.
