It was being reported on SSN pm yesterday that agreement had been reached between the 2 parties and that the announcement would be made towards the end of the week. Probably Thursday pm as CT informed us he had a hospital appointment.
So no hold ups that weren’t envisaged.

Well that's good news, however according to yesterday afternoons gossip it seemed like he had more or less been given the role.

What hold up? Is there one? From what I understood we are in advanced talks with Parker but all the necessary stuff and paper work is not done in a few minutes.

No it’s not, cliques are normal in all dressing rooms, I’d assume at professional level with international players cliques will form based on language. Mainly to settle in, it’s completely normal but for some reason you keep using your voice and reach to smear Kompany, simply because he isn’t Dyche. Very disappointing to see for a manager who produced such a magical season here.

KR I loved Kompany and wanted him to stay but the facts are we had 1 sensation season and 1 absolute dog turd of one. There are too many sources (media fans etc) talking about how the dressing room had become toxic for there not to be some truth in it just accept it and move on. I'm happy to give Parker a chance, saw some good comments about his character from Spurs and West Ham fans on a you tube clip posted here earlier on the championship play off group game against Forest i think it was, a leader in the pitch,committed, body on the line etc. Sometimes you have to judge a man on his performance as you see it not not as the herd does. I will wait and give him support from the beginning. Cliques in dressing rooms! Maybe Bellamy and Jackson could have looked into that,touted as managers.

I too am not so excited by the potential Parker appointment but feel it may be the safer option if the alternative was van Nistelrooy or Bellamy.

I always remember the West Ham home fixture under Laws in the Premier League. We hadn't won a league game since the end of October and this was January or February. Burnley were two up early in the second half, having played relatively well, but West Ham had been abject, (a bit like the game under Kompany last season.) If I'm not mistaken, Parker came on as sub, either at half-time or when they went two-down and changed the momentum of the game completely. West Ham pulled one back 10 minutes before the end and we had to hang on for grim death. Parker's introduction was the catalyst that changed the game, he virtually played us on his own. A performance similar to Joey Barton's second half against Boro' in the second Dyche promotion season.

One of the big failings of the Kompany side last season, was a lack of character, bottle, heart, pride in the shirt, call it what you will. If Scott Parker can instil in our squad some of the fight and pride he showed as a player, he will do for me.

Plus he always comes across as an unpleasant chap.

What Corboran has done at West Brom has been fantastic. He has an almost 50% win rate at a club in total disarray. Plus he seems like an intelligent, thoughtful guy.

Honestly, the only thing that really worries me about Parker is style of play. There are far too many people who have watched his sides saying it's dull, slow, possession based sideways passing etc etc. If he does that I doubt he will last 6 months, after the shambles of last season where the supporters were for the most part incredibly patient I suspect tempers and fuses will be very short.

But I think it's slating someone who's not in the door yet, and not giving them a chance to show why they might be given a job despite them actually having a half decent record at this level that's rubbing people up the wrong way.
