If fans had their way, Ferguson would have been sacked in his early years at United.Look at what he went on to achieve. For me the greatest manager in my lifetime

That’s the performance analyst - who we’ll now need to replace - not the set piece coach (who I still think got us defending them well by the end of the season and at least in part got us better offensively when we packed in the short ****e we weren’t good enough to execute.

The thing is, whoever the manager is, he could have the very best attributes of Bill Shankly, Sir Alex, Sir Bobby, Harry Potts, Sean Dyche, Brian Clough and Johann Cruyff and be as near as perfect as you could get, and still there will be those on here who are anti about them from the start so when it ends in whichever way it does you can say; "I told you!!! What did I say?!?!?"

It seems for some it is fashionable to be negative.

SP isn't my number 1 choice, but i'll be 100% behind him or whoever it is when they start.

Whoever the manager eventually is I will support them because I desperately need to see My team win
Remember it’s our club and the money lenders who currently control it won’t be around forever. They simply won’t be
I don’t mean to be negative towards them but it’s a simple fact that it’s only the “supporters “ who stick with us through thick and thin
Wittingly or unwittingly they continue to disconnect more and more fans. Let’s hope they get their finger out because we’ve got a team in desperate need of sorting out
They won’t announce it on the 4th of July will they
But we need to get back to winning ways and that won’t happen without giving the news boss a fair chance
UTC!

This is interesting and very good news in my opinion.

If this gets done I will post some stuff I heard about the process but so far, despite not really believing it (or wanting to believe it), it’s all been accurate and I think I understand it more now.

I looked the other night at his previous backroom teams and all bar one (an analyst funnily enough, after ours has just been banned!) are in jobs at either Spurs or Bournemouth.

Bellamy has obviously been there, but it’s not him.

I’m not going to divulge the name because it was sent to me privately by a very good source. If it happens, it will be a coup. But I was told just before the Scott Parker news broke.
So to be clear you was told that someone else was at the training ground on Tuesday just before the Parker news broke? Then put it on here 24 hours later. Are you suggesting that this other manager is still in contention? Parker news being leaked a smokescreen?

Parker has been away from the game a bit so he will find it very difficult attracting any players of note.
We have a good young squad though that he can nurture through.

We don't need a manager to sell the club to players, we're in a pretty strong position to attract players, whoever the manager turns out to be. Very good squad and likely to be offering decent wages.

Ok, Parker (or the mystery candidate, if that's the case) may not have the pull of a Kompany type but I don't see that being a huge deal for this season anyway.

I doubt this makes any difference. Players are attracted by lots of things - money, location, playing time, league etc.

Let’s be honest here, Parker was a top player and a leader on the pitch. He will have plenty of good contacts within the game.

The 'pull of Kompany' didn't help us at all last season.

Whether the players at the club form 'a good young squad' will be seen this season. I hope we do see this and that last season will at least have seen them settled in England/north-west and all attention can be focused on their development as a team.

We will see but I'm not blindly optimistic and I don't really know how anyone can see how most these players will perform at this level.

Depending on who leaves and the rumoured left back signing all he needs at the moment is a quality striker.

At this rate we’re going to need to appoint the Messiah to the manager role. Probably gonna be in place just about before the season starts, and then expect miracles. This whole process is fast becoming a farce.

This definitely makes it a different proposition.

Keeping Bellamy / Jackson and adding Parker / Jensen to the coaching team makes it a strong unit and dare I say the best possible option we could have hoped for.

The continuity of Bellamy and Jackson added to the experience of Parker (2 Promotions) and the fresh ideas of Jensen.

As someone alluded to previously, a big name isn't a guarantee for success and a lot of the time they crash and burn.

Even in our own relatively recent history we have had Martin Buchan, John Bond and Chris Waddle.

VK was the exception although last season was one of the worst if not the worst ever in our history in terms of points.

No, it didn't help last season. However, the post referred to Parker not being able to attract players and Kompany definitely did that.

It's been debated to death that he approached last season incorrectly, but he still signed players just because of his name and the attraction of playing for him.

Some of those players may prove to be great signings in time.

Its possible the process has been delayed because Pace wanted to retain Jackson, and or Bellamy, plus Jensen (just appointed) and the others interviewed were not comfortable, wanting to bring their own men in. There will be a few things Kompany brought to us when joining-mainly his standing on his international playing scene. However if the new team headed by Parker can bring common sense to team selections, substitutions, tactical set up, and unity in the playing squad, without the VK ego, I will become a happy fan again after one of the worst seasons of supporting our club I can remember. I know we did the double over Rovers, won the title at their ground, got over 100 points etc, etc.For me that was all erased by a wretched performance in the PL-and it should have been one of the most memorable with the expectation we had created.

In all honesty, I agree with you other than it being one of the worst seasons. It was certainly one of the least enjoyable and most disappointing seasons I can remember but it was a totally different animal in terms of the league.

I’d warm to the idea of Parker with that back room team. I’m clinging on to the hope that VK overruled his staff on set pieces, team selections, and general set up of the team but I think it’s wishful thinking.

Parker with Bellamy kept on hopefully.

Parker, Bellamy, and Jackson with recent experience of 4 Championship promotions between them and two of them already know the squad is the best-case scenario IMO.

Bring it on!

The only time we were any good at throw ins was when Lee Briscoe used to throw it to Paul Cook and he would cushion volley it back or just get it down and play.

You are completely and utterly missing the point.

All Fulham, Bournemouth and Brugge fans slag him off.

The odd person slagging off Dyche, Danish guy, RVN etc is very very different altogether.
There's a fair chance Dyche would have never been appointed, when ditched by Watford, by any of those teams.
They may have replaced him after his dismal first half season
They would almost definitely have sacked after his first relegation
As for Dyche, Clean slate at Burnley, from Day 1, for Parker, nothing else matters

Parker with Bellamy kept on hopefully.

Parker, Bellamy, and Jackson with recent experience of 4 Championship promotions between them and two of them already know the squad is the best-case scenario IMO.

Bring it on!
At Fulham, Bournemouth and Brugge, his assistant has been Matt Wells with Rob Burch as his goalkeeping coach. However, both are part of Ange Postecoglu's team at Spurs so I would think unlikely to be joining him. We do need a goalkeeping coach though.

Can’t blame the set piece coach for Massengo coming on against Fulham and not being able to throw the ball
Last season I said , not 1 particularly throw
