Re: Next manager
I’m not a great fan of this board but I would sooner that they take their time in the appointment rather appointment the wrong one sooner.
Re: Next manager
I’m fine thanks.
I’d made a prediction back on page 95 that we probably wouldn’t have an announcement about our next manager by page 130.
I was counting down the time to that page, I should have gone an extra ten at least, as we are still waiting.

Re: Next manager
Pretty much my first comments on this board for a while, but I would say Parkers seemingly imminent appointment , and his previous record is certainly down to interpretation.
Rob Edwards for example at Luton, has also just been relegated, yet he's touted as one of the best managers in the country and has been linked with several much larger jobs before signing a new extended contract.
I for one, if it is SP will be happy, I'm not a massive fan of him from what I've seen personality wise, but he knows this division and he's a winner. To be honest I also thought Joey Barton, and Bellamy were also idiots but they proved me wrong massively, and I'm sure SP will win us all over too.

Very underwhelmed. But will back him and hope he proves many of his doubters wrong.

Re: Next manager
Let him crack on now, the time for judgment and opinion is only for when he has shown us what he has got. He needs backing from the fans, as do the players. It was vital we got someone in because the hard work starts now - he has a lot of deadwood to bin off and a couple of glaring vacancies to fill (although maybe we have one with that Brazilian left back, though it's gone quiet?).

Comes in 3’s…Labour government….. defeat in Euros …. Parker to Burnley.
Re: Next manager
If Parker can get the best out of the players at is disposal and play to our strengths and play attractive attacking football it's a thumbs up from me, couldn't be any worse than last seasons disaster I'm sure.

How long until the season starts /friendlies even. Not long to gel a side together whoever it may be in charge. Plus point with parker is that he knows the league very well.

Re: Next manager
Bellamy won't last long if that's the case, or at least he won't if it's a normal managerial structure.
I would calculate that Parker is a pretty no nonsense sort of character.

If Bellamy is going to be working with Parker, at least they know each other. They were team mates at West Hsm for two years.

Re: Next manager
Disappointed its Parker. But chosen I assume because of his two promotions and the belief that he is experienced enough manager to win an instant promotion.
But because of that expectation and that many fans are underwhelmed. August will be critical. The results against Luton , Leeds and Rovers will be crucial , and will be make or break for him.
Dull defeats and things will become toxic, attractive football with good results and he will win the fans over.
IMO the first time ever we will have a manager judged so quickly because of the players we already available to make it happen.

Can we not have a post on this forum labelled LETS KNOCK 6 BELLS OUT OF EACH OTHER, that way keeping all the bickering out of the really key posts
such as this important NEXT MANAGER post, which could quite probably have been contained to around 40-50 pages. Sometimes I dont sign in for a day or so and you can spend 5 pages of people predominantly having a go at each other, when all you want to read about is progress re a new manager appointment

Hjulmand was exciting, but only on paper. His club record is nothing to shout about and he knows zilch about the Championship.burnley007 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 11:02 amIf this is true, he must be gutted to lose out to someone like Parker.

Re: Next manager
With Parker coming in as head coach, has there been any chat about us hiring a Director of football, I know we have the recruitment team and Paul Jenkins is involved the director side of things but an actual director of football working alongside Parker and the recruitment team.
Is Mike Rigg the last director type role we had?

Re: Next manager
With the list of candidates mentioned. For me Parker had the best record. Experience of championship. So I’m happy to back him. With the young squad we have I think he will do very well.lets worry about the premier league if and when we get there.

Sorry that is not Parker’s style , we have appointed the wrong manager for that attractive attacking football going of the majority of Bournemouth and Fulham fans.

I don't know the ins and outs - I never professed to - I was told by a very reliable source that he was at Gawthorpe on Tuesday. I passed that information on by saying that Parker was not the only candidate left in the running and it was then jumped on by certain posters.burnley007 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 11:02 amIf this is true, he must be gutted to lose out to someone like Parker.

I didn't want Parker, especially knowing that Hjulmand was in the running, but I will back him 100%.
Any reasons as to why Parker is being appointed ahead of Hjulmand would be complete conjecture.

In the 2021/22 season that Bournemouth finished runners up behind Fulham they were the second highest scoring team and had the tightest defence conceding fewest goals.
A repeat of that this season and no fan should have any complaints.
