By all accounts at the end of the 22/23 season he was showing signs in training, even joined in the bus parade. Yeah, think we’d have seen more of him this year without that injury.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 8:50 pmBy all accounts at the end of the 22/23 season he was showing signs in training, even joined in the bus parade. Massive shame he had the bad knee injury last summer
Does anyone know how his recovery is going?

Saw him a few times at home games towards end of the season getting out the car with Tresor and Ramsey and seemed to be walking ok.
Ramsey on the other hand was massively struggling back end of April start of May

CT alluded to us signing a winger very soon on the Parker thread. Got to say unless it’s Larsen I can’t see why we’d sign another winger

If we sign another winger without getting rid of at least 2, then Pace is a stupid idiot.

Odebert must stay .Redmond and Churlinov are surplus to requirements.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
If we continue to play with inverted wingers then we need another left footed winger to play on the right as I think we only have Benson who fits that role now that JBG has gone. Odobert, Koleosho and JBL were all tried on the right at various times last season with little success so I think it is an area where we can improve if we get the right player.

Redmond would be fantastic at Championship level.
Redmond
Koleosho
Benson
Tresor
Zaroury
Odebert
Has the championship ever had a squad with better wingers?

Hard to imagine after our last championship season but if we keep Odobert and Koleosho I really don't see where Benson and Zaroury fit in, as you say Redmond could be fantastic in the championship also Tresor.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 7:22 amRedmond would be fantastic at Championship level.

Then we've young Agyei waiting for a chance and sounds from the Parker thread that CT thinks another winger is incoming I'm praying this is Bruno Larsson which would be frightening

Redmond was a cba player at Saints often subbed
I feel Zaroury Benny Odobert and Koleosho are our key with Jay and Zeki feeding off them.

Can’t see us keeping the full contingent, as game time would be limited.
I think Odobert will go simply due to him being able to command a bigger fee than any of the others currently , plus he’s got huge potential. Do I want him to go? No.
Tresor is a strange one, realistically none of us know if he is up to it and/or has the fire. I can see him being loaned out.
Benson/Zaroury both been talked about leaving by Sacha. I’d like to see them both stay and rotate on the wings.
Koleosho - stays but need to be careful following his injury.
Redmond - no idea - possibly the experience we need in the squad but where does he fit in?
Churlinov - loaned out again, could do with a permanent .
Agyei - a loan to gain fitness? Or bed him in.

It does make you wonder if a few players and staff started to fall out with VK. Bellamy was leaving now he’s back, same with JBG

If he is staying it should be for cm. We really do have far too many wingers. Suspect if he stays Brownhill will be gone soon.

Think he can play anywhere in the middle. Tremendous footballer.
I hope we can get him back, but I guess contract length might be the deciding factor.... if this rumour has any substance.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
JBG would play centrally in a Parker system, no chance he’ll be a ‘winger’, if rumours do have anything to them.

Yeah didn't start in enough for me - especially in midfield. I think we did initially offer him just one year but he turned that down.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 11:01 amPlayed in 26 games last season.

Yeah I think those days are past him - though he could still play off the right if needed, more as a 'wide playmaker', with a fullback getting high and wide overlapping him.. all depends on the rest of the team/players available.

Any news on the left back from Brazil? Or did Romano jump the gun a little?

He'll need a permit so probably just waiting for that to be rubberstamped before announcing.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 4:50 pmAny news on the left back from Brazil? Or did Romano jump the gun a little?

Maybe the club are trying to stage the announcements and obviously JBG returning is going to be a popular first move from the Parker era.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 4:50 pmAny news on the left back from Brazil? Or did Romano jump the gun a little?
Do always wonder when these things break whether they’re to hurry something else along though!

Who is going to be our version of Lewis Cook and Jefferson Lerma?
Parker plays a very disciplined and structured 433 or 4231.
Despite him favoring possession like Kompany he is very low risk by comparison.
I expect tighter games like the Dyche era and us struggling to break dogged teams down.
Players who were previously given so much freedom will have to learn how to fulfill structured roles.
We can expect Rodriguez to play the Solanke/Mitrovic role I guess.
No idea where some players will fit in. Makes it exciting at least!

Jay Rod starting next season would show how severely the striking department has declined since the departure of Chris Wood.superdimitri wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 9:31 amWho is going to be our version of Lewis Cook and Jefferson Lerma?

Foster has to show everyone what he’s capable of this season. That power and pace should make him capable of destroying defenders this season. Not saying he’d get the numbers of Gyokeres but a play style similar should be attainable for him in the championship.
If he can fire then teams could be in real trouble

A much more reasonable valuation for one of Englands top young talents when you consider Archie Gray, who has never kicked a ball in the premier league, is going for £35m.IanMcL wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 10:43 amhttps://the72.co.uk/2024/07/07/burnley- ... astle-bid/

I really hope we get a bit better at selling players and not jumping at the first bid because we think the player wants a move.

A couple question marks over this statement. Jay Rod will be 35 when the season starts, only once in his career has he scored 20+ in a season.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 10:39 amA fit Jayrod with decent service will get 20+ goals next season

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
So Trafford 25-30 million
Oderbert 20 million
Amdouni - 15-20 million
Berger -20 million
We will make some decent money if we were to try and balance the books
I’d be more tempted to sell them the fringe players like twine, Bastien, obafemi etc and keep our assists but can’t see us doing it.
Think we will have a busy few weeks ahead
