Where are you watching the final?
Where are you watching the final?
I have watched most of the Euros at home, but feel a final needs to be out to enjoy in a crowd and atmosphere. Has anyone been out to watch the matches in the pubs or fanzone, and thought it it a must do for the final or better off at home, if so where? I see the Royal Dyche has the big screen in etc.
Re: Where are you watching the final?
I will be in the village pub. We have had the table booked for every match. It was quite busy last night but, weirdly, loads were coming in after the match.

I’ve booked my seat and it’s where I’ve watched the whole tournament, in front of my own tv.

Re: Where are you watching the final?
The same pub where we watched the Slovakia game. Right in front of the TV with a great atmosphere.
It's my job to get there early to reserve the seats, meaning I'll need to have a few pints early. Shame.

Re: Where are you watching the final?
Been a poor tournament bit like a champions league group phases competition - plus the most low key in the terms of no car flags (think they were banned ?), lack of soccer hubs because apparently were not doing them unless we host the tournament and very little of banners/flags in house windows. Been really strange - so just get it won - get that 1966 monkey off our backs and move on.

Considering the fan zone.
Has anyone been and is it good? Surprised really that the club haven’t really published much footage of it so I’m imagining it to be half empty and rubbish?

Re: Where are you watching the final?
It's my Birthday!! I'm doing a charity soul gig for friends up in Barrow in Furness on Saturday, we are staying with the friends who live on the coast road facing Walney Island. That's where I'll watch. I have awarded myself dual nationality and love Poland but recent years have been poor watching them, I remember Gorgon, Tomaszweski, Lato and two 3rd finishes in the world cup. I'm English tomorrow.
Re: Where are you watching the final?
All family round to one of the children's houses. BBQ depending on weather then inside for the game.

Lad i work with went last night and said it was brilliant.
It was full but could see the screen from anywhere and service was fast for both beer and pies.
No trouble etc whatsoever.
He's going again for the final.

Colne Council are setting up a fan zone in Alkincoates

I’ll probably stay with watching it at home, maybe as a watch along with rest of the family

Yes lol, Kazemier Deyna also, imperious, I'm of the Jimmy Mac generation Burnley through and through, I went to Maine road to watch Kaz, he was known for finding positions, ghost like losing his marker, the City kids never passed to him just kept their heads down and ran. He took Poland to the play off final after beating Italy,Sweden and Argentina, they beat Brazil in that.

Don't want to sound like a misery, but nowt worse than watching an important game in a public place full of people who don't watch football.

Remember the late 90’s and early 2000’s England matches especially tournaments used to be a big day or night out with the pubs rammed.

Butlins (Skegness)
We always have a family weekend at this time of year. I'm hoping, and expecting, that Butlins will put something special on for the tourists.

Just out of curiosity are you a twin who studied in London many years ago?
Re: Where are you watching the final?
It's going to be Mayrhofen in the Austrian Tyrol's as we'll be on a walking holiday. Just need to find a sports bar. It looks as though we'll have 3 options. Looking forward to it.

I'm in Zurich for my cousins wedding. I'm sure the Swiss will accommodate us. About 13 of us going from the UK.

He also skinned Norman Hunter on the half way line in that tumultuous Wembley fixture when we couldn't get the ball past Jan Tomaszewski the Polish goalkeeperSilkyskills1 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 3:45 pmDied in his early 40's in a car accident in America. Very good footballer.

Paguera, Majorca in the hotel. Big screen outside and plenty of Spaniards serving me San Miguel to celebrate.

Re: Where are you watching the final?
Unlike previous World Cups and Euros, I’ve watched every game at home with my Wife and Daughter this tournament, and not worn my England shirt. I am not usually superstitious but I’ll maintain the status quo for the final.
Re: Where are you watching the final?
Nice. Have you been before? That valley is very pleasant and scenic. There's a strange hidden section which you get to by driving up a sort of steep tube on the left hand side before you get to the town limits. Just the place for a walk. It's as if you've entered "the lost world".
And probably no gloaty England fans (or Spanish as the case may be).
Re: Where are you watching the final?
Looked it up. It's the brandberg tunnel that you drive up.

Re: Where are you watching the final?
Il be watching at home with the in laws like last night
I cba with pubs and crowds, struggling to get a good view of the game. I’m not arsed for atmosphere and collective celebrations. My son is 8 and loves football so he will be allowed another late night.
When I was younger I would have been in the pub. I remember walk about in Burnley used to be quality for watching England games. Couldn’t think of anything worse now

I wonder how the atmosphere is in the seaside resorts of Spain for the final?
Re: Where are you watching the final?
A couple on here have mentioned it being good at the fanzone, so makes you wonder why the club are not pushing out videos and photographs of the nights.
