Re: Walsall FC
Will they be saddled to League Two, or will they take to the saddle in a promotion charge?

It's a mildly amusing, quirky thread topic and I'll admit my post was dreadful which in hindsight was a waste of energy but this/your quoted post is beyond words, have you absolutely nothing else to do in your life?

Re: Walsall FC
In a similar vein, has anyone ever come across a person with the surname Burnley? That is apart from Dave Burnley, who doesn’t count because he changed his name by deed poll.
I’m curious because I was surprised to come across someone with that name where I live in north east Scotland. As far as I know she is not connected with the town.
Obviously there are plenty of examples of people with the names of towns. Tony Blackburn, the footballer Justin Edinburgh.
A good quiz question might be, which national team has 2 players named after towns, both of which are not in the country they represent? The answer is very easy.
A more difficult challenge might be to form a team made up purely of players with the names of towns or cities in their names (though far be it for me to hijack this thread).

Fictional character Clare Burnley appeared in the Patricia Leitch "Jinny" series of books in the 1970's. Never known a real one.

Can we have Dale (Kirkby) Stephens?
Or for that matter Max (Kirkby) Lonsdale, Robert (Kirkby) Green, Mick (Kirkby) Mills, and Derek (Kirkby) Underwood who was always a good number 11.
