Safe standing in the long side lower?

Post by GetIntoEm » Tue Jul 16, 2024 3:45 pm

Is that what they are doing?

Been in there today and lots of the seats are out, also the pitch run off has been sorted.

I think those orange lines will get in the way of the ball

I thought that those seats had only just been replaced as the old ones were looking very tired having been exposed to the elements at the front of that stand.

Maybe they are there to prevent us using long ball tactics!

Never thought of that, it must be Parker's idea

It is a shame they haven’t made the rest of the cricket field safe standing as well.

I presume it's a soft resin base material around the pitch?
Like they have in kids parks?

Isn't this part of the structural work they are doing? Seats will then be put back.

It won't be safe standing because standing blocks the view from the lounges.

They don't look to be touching the rows in front of the boxes

If the front row stands, everybody stands. Stands to reason! ;)

They don’t look like safe standing seats.

They are updating the floodlights on the stand roof. The seats are removed so that the "lift" has a solid platform for its feet.

The run off area looks good however, the LED boards have been removed at some points as there is not enough space

They don’t have LED boards on that side of the ground

'safe standing' seems such a gimmicky term.

i don't 'safely' stand up whilst i'm having a pyss.

when i started going on the turf in the early 80s i thought the bob lord lot were posh for sitting down.

but what do i know?
