Yeah, if you’re 12…
Not to make anyone feel old (including myself) but the Grand Theft Auto series has been around for the best part of 30 years, with the Andreas version 20 years old. I'd be worried if your average 12 year old knew much about it

As you might be able to tell, I liked the video :D

I follow a pro recruitment analyst/scout on X and he’s excited about this signing for us. He has shared a report he did on the player circa 8 months ago, which goes into detail on his profile. He believes we’ve got a real asset on our hands if we develop & refine some areas of his game.
What's their account name please?

@o_oconnell_

Seems to be a locked account now so hopefully he accepts your follow request. He’s actually a PNE fan so does quite a lot of posting on the Championship.

I think comments like he was tearing premier league sides apart are not good for anyone.

Koleosho looked really promising but I think it’s quite fair to say he is incredibly raw and usually his final ball was incredibly poor (shown by his stats).

I tend to agree I think this will be a big season for him but not sure he’s got 15 plus goals in him.
Well put it this way, he was our biggest threat and danger to the opposition every single game he played. That’s what I meant by tearing them apart because they couldn’t handle him most games.

I agree he was raw with the final ball, which you’d expect to improve season on season assuming he is well coached.

Let’s see whether he gets more than 15. I think he will if he stays injury free and plays.

Really interesting report RV, thanks for posting.

A lot of it I’ll confess to not understanding. What is frequency?!? I hope we know as he seems to rely on it a lot :o

I took it as meaning 'relentlessness'.

The report said he's basically always looking to make a run in behind or wide, making the job difficult for the opposing defenders.

Frequency is as it means literally, just how many times an action occurs in this context. So where it says ‘he relies on frequency as his final shot/pass isn’t to a high enough consistent standard’, its meaning he relies on being involved a lot (through his own relentlessness as CoolClaret said) and repeating those actions to deliver the final outcome. It’s a bit similar to how Gyokeres was at Cov, slightly erratic in his final actions but by his own work ethic, physicality, movement and relentlessness he was able to create many of the situations to then deliver an outcome (goal/assist).

Worth noting this report was only half way through last season and this aspect of his game may have improved given the 23 g/a he ended the season with.

If he's willing to work hard, he can improve a lot of the deficiencies on the training ground. One to one coaching on his shooting, control and hold up play will do him wonders.

Give the lad a chance Winston he was punted out on the left wing to fill a gap for us.

He’s a striker.

I know we were short on numbers today, but I didn't think we'd have to ask one of the police horses to go on the wing for us.

His first start at a new club, in a new country and he's a striker being played as what was almost a left wing back...

Are we surprised he looked poor?

I think that’s pretty harsh. I honestly didn’t think he was that bad. At the start he had a few nice runs down the left where our midfield couldn’t find him.

He had our best chance of the game.

He’s a striker get the ball to him in better areas. Similar with foster

Jesus Christ, you don’t half make yourself look stupid all the time. Like your weird obsession with Foster being the best striker in the league and also scoring for fun.

As for Hountondji, is this another Ali Dia?

Never created a thing. Never beat a man and kept the ball. That header if he’s a striker should have been buried. I’ll give him time but from todays showing he’s miles off it

I don't understand the attitude towards Dara. Almost everybody said he improved in the second-half of the season and never showed signs of not caring.

I think he could be one of the vital leaders.
"the attitude"?
Look at Cardiff's best chance last week, when they hit the post.
Don't worry about what he did wrong, just explain what he did right.

Christ give the lad a break. We were awful today, and the squad was totally in disarray. It was a horrible way to make a debut. Did he look good? No. Can he do better? I suspect the answer is yes. At least give him 10 games or so to settle.

Agree with this. He wasn’t the only one turning in a shocking performance today. Certainly some of his more experienced colleagues did. Wasn’t he out of position too?

What worries me is that for the last 10 minutes when we needed a goal, the manager decided that McNally was the better option. It's not a vote of confidence.

Maybe he thought we'd have a better chance of salvaging a point by not conceding whilst pushing more players forward?
Who knows? Ask him ;)

He's clearly a number 9 type player and not a forward that will do well when played wide.
He hasn't exactly missed a plethora of chances.
Let's see how he does when he gets chances and gels with the team.

Along will all bar Esteve, Egan-Reilly and Trafford in fairness though.

Foster been equally as poor as hountonji for 3 games bar one run at Luton which actually came from him losing the ball.
6 goals in 40 games for foster at Burnley. Imagine the stick likes of Barnes, wood and vokes would be getting if they had similar records. Had people on other discussions saying foster is best striker in the league, he’s nowhere near

We have some proper assholes about as fans, fair enough you can have a go at the club for selling absolutely everyone it seems. But don’t slag a player off who got thrown in at the deep end in a disjointed team you can’t make your decisions after that surely!!!

This is what you end up with when computers identify players , if you know anything about football you would know this lad isn’t good enough at League 2 level let alone the Championship

I feel like there was a time when Burnley fans understood that someone being crap in their first proper game might not mean they weren't a real professional footballer. Maybe I'm romanticising it.

Tbf, he wouldn't be the first player we've signed who didn't look much on his first outing (or first few outings). I've called (quietly, in my own head) quite a few players useless on first seeing them and been quickly proven wrong once they get going. We have to also remember he made his debut in a hastily cobbled together starting XI where basically every player struggled and was way off it. Hopefully he'll come good. We'll see!

This is how bitter some of you get after a bad result.I repeat what I said earlier give the lad a chance! You can’t judge off that surely! I listened to a podcast the other day apparently Gareth bales spurs debut was horrendous look how that turned out!
I know when someone can play football or not , he can’t , not at this level anyway .

No doubt for me that he was awful yesterday but you can't judge him on that, playing out of position in a team that was miles off it.

This is what you end up with when computers identify players , if you know anything about football you would know this lad isn’t good enough at League 2 level let alone the Championship
You’d be surprised then to learn that ALL major clubs use ‘computers’ to identify players that fit their systems.

That’ll be why Arsenal,Chelsea,Man U ,and Aston Villa haven’t brought in a decent striker then , or they actually have staff who know how to process the results.
