These guys were certainly not the best players in the PL, but because of the immense team camaraderie , it enabled them a top 7 finish, and I believe there was not a PL side they did not beat, with some immense victories and results against the odds
It can't ever be proven or disproven but if Defour and Brady hadn't got injured that side who finished 7th could've pushed the top four.

Said to my brother yesterday, If anything kicks off on the pitch now, we don't really have an enforcer who'd step in.

Look at them lads - they'd be queuing up saying "hold my beer, it's my turn" - a team full of men

Agreed.

The best Burnley team that I've ever had the privilege to see in my lifetime.

It was one of those eras when I did not fear playing any PL side. We were never ever going to get tonked with that group

Not sure how you've deduced that.
Apart from Tarks, they're all grinning like they've got
Megan Fox as the stripper.
I was referring to CTs photo!

Tarky isn’t on the pic he was referring to, he was replying to my post.

The Coyle promotion team were all very close . The players and wife’s socialised together

Hopefully Parker can bring back of the Spirit that Kompany drained from the place

The experienced players pulled it all together in the Coyle team but some of those same players then destroyed it under Laws and then they tried it with Howe but he got them out.

There were issues in the dressing room when Dyche arrived but he made changes by bringing in really good characters.

It's funny how the narrative around that has changed.

At the time I remember loads of people complaining about how Howe couldn't cope with older players and what a bad manager it made him.

He couldn't cope with them, Michael Duff said that he never spoke to him which is incredible. But he got rid of the two main problems in his first summer, one on loan and one paid up.

Didn't they have a major row on the touchline at Norwich in the FA Cup when he took him off? I don't think he played again, but that was in Howe's one full season with us.

Just shows you how much character and desire play a part in a winning football team. I have no doubt European clubs are full to the brim with pacy youngsters who can trap a ping pong ball and do gerzillions of keepy uppies while face timing a mate but the desire to work hard, compete and win can't easily be taught.

Another reason why I always think the Dyche model is the only one that will succeed in the longer term where smaller clubs are concerned.

Pretty sure he got rid of Clark Carlisle fairly sharpish. Can't say i blame him after what Carlisle admitted in his book about how he treated Laws.

Carlisle was one and maybe worth seeing who else went to Preston that summer. Laws was silly really; he tried to win them over. Howe, to his credit, got shut.

Didn't Laws start dishing out new contracts to some of the older players? No doubt on silly money as his way of trying to get them on side.

Don’t think there’s any football in Dubai so presumably to live and put his feet up?
There's a chance that he will be playing there and also maybe coaching. Nothing signed yet but talks are going on!
