Drove through today for the first time since completion and it was pretty easy with the new lights to be fair. Nice smooth road is a strange feeling though.

Interesting that this thread has gone very quiet since it's been opening up and nearly completed. I doubt that would be the case if there was any hold ups at the new lights.
It looks like they've done a pretty good job to me with a few hiccups along the way.

Looks great. Hope they can do something with that ugly old Endsleigh building across from the Town Hall.

The roads and pavements look fine now they’re finished, but can anyone explain why they’ve made Plumbe Street from the Vintage Claret to the Oxford one way. It means that to access the Fulledge and Burnley Wood areas, you either have to go round to Tod Road and back down Temple Street or Parliament Street. Or you could go down Finsley Gate from Mcr Road. All for making 50 metres of Plumbe St one way. It doesn’t make sense to me?

Traffic flow when it's busy, not blocking the main road with cars trying to get in and out of plumb street. Sensible decision

As a pedestrian I am very happy with the finished crossing. I live up Pike Hill way and the traffic seems to flow, which is good. However getting out of TK Maxx and travelling East towards the Landmark for the motorway or Duke Bar is now a pain. Best way seems to right at the lights, past Calico/bus station and left back towards the lights...

A new one to add for anyone that cuts through towneley park fro todmorden rd to brunshaw rd.The road up the hill that comes between the 2 garden centres will be closed just above the duck pond for around 2 weeks from 5th August. Access in and out of the park will be via the todmorden Rd entrance.

More disruption this morning. The roundabout at the bottom of the cinema has been partially closed. This morning coming into Burnley you could only turn left to go up towards the college meaning for traffic that usually continued around the roundabout up towards Halfords you had to continue towards Asda then come back on yourself towards the aldi junction. It’s causing major tailbacks and likely to affect traffic in both directions ahead of tonight’s game if it’s still there. I would suggest avoiding junction 11 for westbound traffic and for eastbound traffic use junction 9

Expected to be clear by 9.45am

M65 closed between junctions 8 and 10.

Traffic very heavy on alternative routes via Barrowford Road and through Burnley.

Barrowford Road, (Padiham bypass) is stopped in both directions.
Knock on effect in Padiham very slow/ stopped traffic,
Moor Lane, from St Leonard's Church to the bypass is gridlocked both ways.

Average speed cameras to be installed along Colne Rd. I was hoping for good ones, but I suppose average cameras are better than none. Of course, I jest.

Anyhow, this is excellent news.

At least it's finally going to happen though, and with modern average speed tech, rather than a handful of old speed cameras where people hit the accelerator when clear.

Best of all, the excavation is on the pavement side, not in the road.

Good question Goliath. Lots of work will be going on around every approach to the town centre to help with the flow of traffic to the roundabout I believe.
The thing is, when they arnt digging the roads up the flow isn't too bad. Just been on Burnley Rd, Rawtenstall, traffic lights near Spar, no work going on with the traffic management guy sat in his van, playing on his phone.

To get through Rawtenstall there aren't many alternatives, if the Council keep on giving permission for these massive housing estates to be built on the hillsides off Burnley Rd, where every house has 2 or 3 cars the problem will just get worse. I don't think they realise that the roads in Rawtenstall just can't take all this amount of extra traffic.

That’s fine when they are working there.
Common sense would indicate the lights can be removed when they are not on site. However it rarely seems to be the case.

Hopefully on the plus side the demand eventually leads to the long overdue reinstation of the trainline.

But there aren't working in the road. They are working on the footpath. No wonder this country is so screwed if temporary traffic lights have to be in operation every time someone digs a hole in the FOOTPATH.

Wow. Just because they are working On a footpath does not mean it’s not dangerous for workers, pedestrians, road users or cyclists etc. Try thinking of other people. I’m not saying anything else

They have also made a safe pedestrian walkway that's barriered off on the footpath. Nobody has to step out into out into the road or work in the road. Anyway, I'm glad you're not going to say anything else on this matter. It will make a nice change for you not to spam-on about something you haven't seen and know nothing about.
