Floodlights on at the Turf
Floodlights on at the Turf
For the last 5 or 6 nights, the floodlights have been on at the Turf well after midnight. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Just a guess - is it artificial lighting to assist growth of new grass in the shadows of the stands? Have they relaid the pitch this summer?

Maybe it is Desso working on the pitch - if it was the lighting for the pitch, it wouldn't be the floodlights.

Re: Floodlights on at the Turf
If I was having a guess, which it totally is it would be stadium related, seating or something.
I work near the Turf and when the artificial lights are on to assist pitch growth in the winter in the early mornings, they produce an orangy glow and the main floodlights are never on..
If the pitch is still being worked on, maybe health and safety doesn't allow other work to go on at the same time so they have to start on the stands when the pitch guys have left for the day?
As I said though, just a total guess

The last of Vincent Kompany's specialist coaches packing up ?
Re: Floodlights on at the Turf
they've still been working on the pitch and the longside / bob lord seat replacements this week, maybe they have a night shift on
Re: Floodlights on at the Turf
What are they actually doing in the longside lower tier. From photos I’ve seen a lot of the seats have been removed
Re: Floodlights on at the Turf
i was there when the seats were out, looked like replacements to me as all the old ones were thrown all over, although someone corrected me to say that some structural work was needed, so maybe that.
they've also refloored the hospitality areas in the bob lord stand, they've covered the concrete floors in black carpet. looked good.

I hope they put my seat back before the start of the season.
