Curiously on the list of Thursday games there is a 0-0 draw at Blackpool in a cup tie on Thursday 22nd August 1981.
The kick off time shows as 3pm.

Would anyone remember this game and if it did indeed kick off on a Thursday afternoon?

22nd August in 1981 was a Saturday - we drew 0-0 at Blackpool in the Group Cup having beaten Carlisle at home on the previous Saturday and won at Preston in the midweek.

I used that database Dave Roberts has on twitter. It lets you filter to the days, I did think it was odd.

Yes. Any game not at 3pm Saturday will be on the red button on Sky

Were there friday games then? We beat someone like Tranmere or Stockport on a friday night once around that time. I don't know if it was televised or because of the Liverpool or Manchester clubs playing, or it might have been a Sherpa Van trophy equivalent game I'm thinking of.

We also played Grimsby at home on Friday 23rd November 2001, in a televised game, in front of 18,506. At first glance, the gate looks very impressive for a Friday night TV game, but tickets were £5 per head, for any seat in the ground ...

On the subject of Thursday games, all the Europa League qualifiers in 2018 were held on a Thursday, as I'm sure someone has mentioned ...

There isn’t a red button for them. It’s being replaced by Sky Sports +.

It’s getting increasingly difficult to follow my club “live” right now.
I favour public transport to get to home and away games, and I also like to spend a bit of time in bed of an evening after a football match. Oh and it would be useful if I could actually make it home after a football match on the same day that I set out to said game.
It’s a choice now of borrowing my wife’s car for some games, or using my motorbike. Or just giving them a miss?
I think during these winter months several games will be given a miss.

None of these are great but Boro & Millwall away games are the biggest disappointments in that list for me
