Re: West Yorkshire Clarets - Meeting up in BRADFORD - (Thursday 25th January)
Roger says he’s (John) the hardest player that he played alongside at Burnley. He says that everyone think it’s John Deary (who was hard) but John is another level.dougcollins wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 4:32 pmSaw John a few weeks back - they might have to widen that door!
I work with his cousin and he's a big unit.

Should just add to John’s post that there’ll be 10% off all cask for WYC members at the meeting on the night. And we’ll be providing some grub as well.
Hope to see as many WYCs as possible on the 26th!

It’s really kind for you to accommodate us in this way. I will make sure I mention the 10% offer on my next mailout. I have started to collect some pie orders as well. Many thanks, Greavesy.Ightenhill_Claret wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 1:46 pmShould just add to John’s post that there’ll be 10% off all cask for WYC members at the meeting on the night. Absolute pleasure mate. Looking forward to seeing you all.
We’ll get some cards printed up so that we can extend the cask 10% off offer to other times as well.

Hi John,
Living overseas there's sadly no chance of my joining you.
However, I'd just like to say a few things:
a) You're flyer, so to speak, is ideally pitched. Warm and inviting. The impression given is that all newcomers are genuinely welcome.
b) Initiatives such as yours, which has existed for many years, are first-rate. They give people a chance to meet new folk and have a good time out.
c) There may well be some single people who are keen to socialise in a "pressure-free" environment and your evenings thus serve a real purpose.
Full credit to you and all the folk involved in organising these evenings.

Thank you ever so much, ecc,
It really means a lot that you have provided such feedback. It is appreciated. I know I head-up The group and have done for over a decade, but MorleyClaret and dandeclaret Also deserve some praise, for the type of culture we aim to create. We are fully inclusive of everyone and anyone. We just want people to have a nice time in a safe and relaxed environment. Thank you again.

Cracking evening last night. A really healthy turnout and the beer and pies were fantastic. We were very well looked after.

You're welcome.
I'm certain the folk who attend are very grateful to you as well as MorleyClaret and dandeclaret.
The group seems to have existed for a long time now which means you're doing the right thing. As you know, football isn't just the 90 minutes every weekend, it's part of our social fabric. Or can be. But it sometimes needs people to knit things together and make things happen.
Take care and have a safe trip tomorrow,
ecc
