Hdlaky - 7 thought he was actually quite solid
Roberts - 7
O’Shea - 7
Esteve - 8 rolls Royce at this level. Absolutely must keep him regardless of whatever offer comes in
Pires - 8 this guy is a gem
Cullen - 6 thought he struggled today
Brownhill - 8 got better and better as the game went on.
Koleosho -7 started poorly but grew into the game
Vitinho - 8 I think he’s improved his final ball massively since we were last in the championship.
Foster - 8 there’s flashes of a very very special talent here.
Jay - 7 class shone through when required

Very satisfying. We won exceedingly well but there's loads of room for improvement; were a few who were off it for most of the game and only showed flashes but we still had way too much.

Hladky 6 fortunate with the pigs ear he made of the save from the corner
Pires 4 thought he struggled today badly
Esteve 7
O’Shea 7
Roberts 7
Cullen 5
Brownhill 7
Koleosho 6 pretty quiet, constantly pulled and fouled but took his goal well
Vitinho 7 lovely pass for the third
Rodriguez 4 genuinely forgot he was still on the pitch second half, milk turns quicker
Foster 5 big strong and a decent turn of pace but technically he’s woefully lacking, his first touch like he’s wearing clown shoes and constant sloppy lay offs. Doesn’t do enough consistently to worry a defence, the odd run.

Unfortunately I missed the last 15 minutes, but 4 players must have been absolutely shocking at the end to merit the 4’s and 5’s the KRBFC gave them

All 6.

Weirdest game if football I’ve ever seen.

Levels between the championship and the premier league are massive.

I think we should include a requirement to say from TV or live at the ground, as some of these scores and comments can’t have been on the Turf and seen the whole game rather than just what’s on TV

I don't think it would matter due to the inherent bias and football backgrounds some posters have

Hladky 7 He made a few smart saves and was calm in possession. Great debut. That corner piece was a good save and very tricky to do any more or keep hold of.
Pires 5 Mixed bag. Cardiff targeted history side and got some joy at times. Will be much improved when he works out his distances.
Esteve 7
O’Shea 7
Roberts 6
Cullen 5 They suffocated him in the first half particularly
Brownhill 7 Grew into the game
Koleosho 6 Cardiff did a job on him for large spells of the first half but he got to grips with the task and ultimately won his battle. Great sign for a young winger to do that
Vitinho 7 Played well. Can actually see him holding down that position for a sustained run.
Rodriguez 4 Skipping past his man to get behind for our second was good play but those moments were few and far between. Struggled up against their centre halves all day. Not sure if he won a header.
Foster 5 Another one that grew into the game but offered little early doors.

Hladky 6 - one decent save second half and was fine with the ball.
Roberts 6 - solid enough defensively and used the ball well. Very smart defensive header at the back post in the second half.
O'Shea 7 - very solid indeed, and looked a step above at times.
Esteve 8 - other than the yellow card incident he was completely in control, some nice passing and largely dominant.
Pires 6 - very raw, a good few mistakes in there but plenty of goof also.
Vitinho 6 - fantastic pass for Brownhill's goal but I thought he allowed himself to get pushed very deep in the first half which helped Cardiff gains lot of posession.
Brownhill 8* - not his best in the first half but just got better and better as the game went on. Full of energy and showed good physicality.
Cullen 7 - much better second hald than the first, began to dictate the game.
Koleosho 7 - very composed for his goal with a tricky, bouncing ball on his wrong foot. First 15 minutes or so he wasn't his usual self but another who grew into the game.
Jay 7 - not a consistent threat but played a huge role in the second goal and some very important defensive work during Cardiff's good spells in the first half.
Foster 7 - another who grew into the game second half and was causing them all sorts of problems. Would have liked to see him stay on and grab a goal but it's perhaps important to protect him with the amount of work he gets through.

Amdouni and JBG looked very lively off the bench but don't think any were on long enough.

Cardiff played well in the first half and their more compact style saw them get on top in the middle of the park. The first goal was obviously very fortunate and perhaps if they had scored their big chance it could have been a more troubling afternoon.
Second half our fitness and quality really shone through, and although we didn't have a huge amount of shots on target it felt like we could score at any point.

A great win and still loads of room for improvement.

Hladky -7 Solid

Roberts - 6 Ok in patches, gives the ball away with that pass into Cullen or Brownhill to often.

O’Shea - 7 Sound

Esteve - 8 Another excellent performance

Pires - 7 Very good again.

Cullen - 6 Not his best game, but ok.

Brownhill - 7 starts every game running about a lot and giving a lot of needless fouls away, then he calms down and improves, good goal again.

Koleosho -7 started poorly but grew into the game

Vitinho - 7 hardly involved in the first half, much better in the second half.

Foster - 6 there’s flashes of a player in there, however his first touch let him down more than once today, carries the ball well.

Jay -6 clever use of the ball for the first goal, but was anonymous for the rest of the game.

Jay Rod 7

Kolesho 6
Vithinio 7

As I think a lot of home games will go Cardiff eventually ran out of steam and we just picked them off with the quality we have in the squad. Third goal was a superb move. Good early signs with obviously plenty of improvement to come.

Seems weird to win 5-0 and seemingly give some quite low marks. But if 6 is average and 5 is below par then that’s how I saw the game.

Great that we were ruthless though and the 4th and 5th goals in particularly were excellent.

Weird tbf because we were DEFINITELY second best in the first half, but went in 2 up. Yes we were better second half, but still no great shakes imo. Yet we scored 5 (well 4 if we're being pedantic!) . It reminded me of a Dyche PL game where we have far less possession and frustrate the hell out of teams by defending so brilliantly, but crikey we're bloody dangerous when we do get the ball!!! Onwards and upwards!!
PS. Hladky needs better distribution. Passing 5 yards to the CB is ok, but not exactly innovative. His long balls were crap!

Keep this squad together and I would bet we won’t be out of top spot for the entire season. It’ll be worth selling a few to make the league more competitive, going to be pretty boring otherwise.

A very average first half somehow saw us 2-0 up but the points were sealed with the 3rd - a beautiful move. There’s still a lot of improvement in this team which will come once things have bedded in but, essentially, the title is ours to lose.

Hdlacky - 7 fine on his debut, handled well, decent feet

Roberts - 7 good day for him against the enemy

O’Shea - 7 struggled a bit first half as he kept getting turned but fine otherwise

Esteve - 7 same as O’Shea

Pires - 6 getting used to English football but plenty of positive signs

Cullen - 6 nullified first half but back to runnin ting in the second

Brownhill - 8 superb at this level, covered most of the pitch and finished his chance with aplomb

Vitinho - 7 another decent days work

Koleosho - 7 took his goal well as he had to wait for the ball to drop for him. Lucky not to get himself booked for the push, needs to not let himself get wound up.

Rodriguez - 7 played almost as a right sided central midfielder for a lot of the game, he got very deep. Worked hard and had a big part in two goals.

Foster - 7 worked his socks off again

Subs - absolutely nuts that we could bring on players of that calibre and the put the icing on the win.

These scores reflect the most positive comments I've read about the starting eleven. You may see yours and if you don't agree with any of them it is simply to show that other fans see the game differently to you

A strange game in parts but one that showed the difference between Prem & Champ.

Football isn't all about dribbling past players and drilling 30 yard shots. Winning is ultimately a habit. Losing is a habit. Turning around a team that has been used to losing is incredibly difficult. That takes guile and strategies that aren't always exciting to watch. Today, we beat a team 5-0. Suggsesting 2 or 3 players were poor or below par is (certainly in this case) misunderstanding what it takes to win a game of football. We certainly weren't a team of 10s either.

Hladky 7 - not much to do but looked to have a presence and was reasonable in possession.
Roberts 7 - decent. The odd misplaced pass but effective enough.
Estéve 8 - hardly put a foot wrong (though he did, twice and recovered)
O'Shea 8 - made up ground on one passage of play showing his pace, strength and judgement.
Pires 6 - not as impressive as Monday but good enough.
Vitinho 7 - busy and effective in both directions.
Cullen 7 - tidy as always
Brownhill 9* - thought he was our best player and shows how dominant he can be in this league. A very well taken goal.
Koleosho 7 - worked hard. Not always successful. Took his goal well and I bet they wish they had him on their side.
Rodriguez 6 -seemingl invisible at times. Beautiful touches showed his quality. Important for 2nd goal and a couple of calm moments coming out.
Foster 7 - powerful running alleviating pressure. Some important touches with his link-up play.
.
Weghorst 6 - didn't have much time but showed and gave effort. He was available and took up an excellent position when ZA decided to go it alone.
Amdouni 7 - looked powerful and tenacious in his short time. A number of traits were present yet sadly absent last season.
Gudmundsson 7 - took his goal well. Looked fit and raring to go. Really pleased for him.

Strange first half when they looked a threat and I thought they controlled the midfield. A bit of luck got us into the game and the second half became a formality.

And after all these years, Brownhill has finally replaced John Deary with his runs from deep and 1 on 1 finishing.

Strange first half which we got away with. Grew into it second half. Just nice to see a win and some goals and smiles on faces

Hdlaky - 7
Roberts - 7
O’Shea - 7
Esteve - 7
Pires - 8 looks a bargain
Cullen - 7
Brownhill - 8 Seems to suit the Parker system
Koleosho - 6 - had a fairly average first half. He's still got lots to give
Vitinho - 7
Foster - 7
Jay - 7

Winning 5-0 and not playing that well can't be bad can it?

We weren’t great 1st half. Cardiff hounded well but were out of steam after an hour, probably wondering how they were 3 down too. Took our goals well and managed to score 5 from 4 on target in the end. Both at Luton and today there was a real freshness about the team and crowd, which is a credit to Parker, the players and the fans after what was a complete farce from start to finish last season.

One observation was how empty the corporate sections were in Longside and Jimmy Mc stands. Think Mr Pace may want to revisit his extortionate prices for games such as this.

Weird game. For the first 30 minutes Cardiff were in control and in spite of their goalkeeping howler could have been 1-2 in front. It goes to 2-0 and they know it's not their day. Such is life. From my viewpoint in the JHU I could see the massive disconnect between attack & defence which Scottie corrected at HT.

Hladky 7 Pretty solid debut.
Roberts 6 Good in parts.
Esteve 8 Calm & assured
O'Shea 8 Forming a v good partnership with Steve. One superb moment 2nd half when Roberts was beaten and he covered with a solid clearance into the stands. I really hope he stays.
Lucas Pires 7 Bags of skill but leaves space behind him when he ventures forward. I like this guy though.
Vitinho 8 Mr Duracell, energy to burn.
Cullen 7 Steady but overrun 1st half.
Brownhill 8 MOM A real Captains performance.
Koleosho 7 They doubled up on him but he worked so hard and deserved his goal.
Rodriguez 6 Clever play which led to 2nd goal.
Foster 6 Starting to flex his considerable strength on the ball. Not quite up to what I would consider his best though.

A final mention for JBG and the collectors piece of a right footed shot into the bottom corner :o

Granted krbfc has an agenda with Jay but if you genuinely went to todays game and give Jay a 4 you should give up now an walk away from football

Hladky -7

Roberts -6
O’Shea -7
Esteve -7
Pires -6

Cullen -6
Brownhill - 8 the run from deep for his goal was superb
Vitinho -7 not as sharp but outstanding first-time ball to Brownhill for the 3rd
Koleosho -7

Rodriguez - 6. Good work for the 2nd but not as influential as I’d like
Foster -7

Never saw a 5-0 coming as we were 2nd best for the first half hour. Also didn’t think I’d ever see another goal like Muric vs Brighton. You live and learn.

All said we’ve scored 9 in 2 games and look strong in every position. Last season it took us till mid November to score 9.

Right now we’re the team no-one wants to play.

Hladký 7
Roberts 7
O’Shea 8 - need to keep hold of him
Estève 8
Pires 6
Cullen 6
Brownhill 8* - pick of the goals for me based on the play and thought he was really busy all over the pitch again.
Vitinho 7
Rodriguez 6 - not sure what the tactics were really today but saw him playing RW and CM at times. Showed he’s still got something to offer.
Koleosho 6
Foster 6

Such a weird game as others have said. Feels mad to give 6s & 7s for a 5-0 win but until the final 35 mins it felt like we were well off it and lucky to go in winning at the break.
That being said, the team are adapting to a new style and to still dish out a 5-0 thumping shows the potential still to come. Bring it on and UTC!

Not going to post my normal player comments because actually I struggled to differentiate many of them. We looked a bit “after the lord mayors show” following the Luton game and being at only 70% gave them a chance. A bit like a Champion’s League team coming back and playing a minnow the following weekend, not playing well, but ultimately their class told. That was us today. Maybe it was also about what the next home game is, players may find it hard to focus on this one?

Which is scary. If we hit 90% I fear for the division. I really do feel this squad is miles better than the one we went up with, I know we will lose half a dozen more, but we have so many players who can do major damage. Interestingly, of the players I expect to go, none of them started. Which is another great thing.

Weird things about today:
— how bad the Championship refs are
— how the club can moan about atmosphere but still not sort out health and safety to fully open the CFS to our loud fans
— Parker praising the sound system (I also enjoyed it) but surreal we have moaned about it for years
— subdued atmosphere from the players at the end, didn’t seem as pumped as at Luton, probably had forgotten how to celebrate at Turf :D

Keep this side together, 110 points. Lose a few, then it becomes a challenge but we should still do it. It is really about keeping enough with the quality for the PL though, no point having a full rebuild again.

4 = poor, I thought he had a poor game. Woefully slow, spent half the time defending at right back, didn’t hold the ball, a big contributing factor as to why we couldn’t control possession in the first 45. I just don’t think he’s good enough anymore to be starting games ahead of the likes of Amdouni. I honestly forgot he was still on the pitch second half until I saw him subbed off.

If you want to reward graft then by all means give him a 7, Burnley fans do love a runner though.

Strange game, didn't get out of 2nd gear and somehow notched a 5-0 win... Cannot think of a Burnley game unfolding like that before.

Hladky impressed me, very composed performance and I thought that his positioning for the Kanga chance was superb.

Two games, 9 goals for, 1 against. Cannot complain, onwards & upwards. UTC!

Funny old game. We were sloppy in the first half, but had control in the second. I don’t think the game was helped by a ref that blew the whistle for everything. Performance levels can be better, and I didn’t agree with the starting XI, but this is a new manager, some new lads in the team, new system, second game of the season, and we’ve still put 5 in! Great start.
