Is he Aaron Ramseys’ dad? Free kick to them every time he hit the grass. Embarrassing.

Presume the Cardiff team coach is dropping him off at the end of the M65 on their way home.

Very very poor performance from the man in the middle. Game never got going because of his overuse of the whistle.

He's one of many referees who simply does not realise that players will pretend to be fouled. He thinks all footballers are scrupulously honest.

Awful referee
Let a lot go but pulled up play for fouls when the ball won cleanly

He really didn't influence the result, but let's be honest, he doesn't know the difference between a good tackle and a foul. Esteve's booking was a joke.

....and the frightening thing is, there's probably worse to come !
Another thing I noticed was the lino on the Longside, twice a Cardiff player taking a throw- in stepped over the line in doing so.....basic errors in not looking down the line

He did give their "goal" offside though at a critical time in the game.

The assistant in front of the Bob Lord Stand spent a nice afternoon playing guessing games and very often guessing incorrectly.

A - 5. Didn’t know what was a soft dive as others have pointed out, which ruined the game.
B - 3. Fouls, Burnley 19 Cardiff 6, which I think says it all.
C - 10. At least fitness was good enough to see Zeki’s goal cos all he had to do was feel his watch vibrate
D - 10. Didn’t really lay a marker down for their antics and let Ramsey referee the game.
A very poor ref but luckily didn’t cost us apart from a wrong yellow for Max.

Started well but unfortunately after not buying the first of countless dives by number 19 and the other Cardiff divers, he bought every other one ! Foul count off 22-7 according to Live Score was a joke !!

Wasn't he on VAR duty last season in one of our many contentious decisions? Can't remember which game it was but I'm sure someone might dig it out. If he is a VAR official you can definitely see why it will never work with clowns like Salisbury around. He had absolutely no clue what a foul was and wasn't. Like he was literally guessing. Esteves booking was his crowning moment. Incompetent.

Referee frustrating and allowed Ramsey to control the match (ie dropping to the floor at slightest touch). This is what comes from playing at the highest level where unscrupulous managers / coaches would sell their own grandma for a pint).

A - 6 - generally poor. The Esteve booking was staggering
B - 10 - He was consistenly poor!
C - 18 - the bizzare mark - he never seemed to really be out of position, which made his performance all the more baffling
D - 6 - Ramsey basically ran the game

B - 3. Fouls, Burnley 19 Cardiff 6, which I think says it all.
I must admit, I was staggered when I saw that statistic.

I've just seen the whole match on Clarets+ and I expected a dreadful ref performance. I didn't see it!
My only criticisms would be Foster's yellow, unless he was feuding with Ramsey, and not booking Koleosho for persistent fouling.
The Esteve booking looked to me for just blocking their forward. He may have got a touch on the ball but that doesn't mean it's not a foul.
The ref seemed to me to get most decisions right but it's inevitable when many of the players cheat that some will be wrong. The Cardiff players were the most responsible for that but were not the only ones.
As for some of the game being stop/start there clearly wasn't much advantage to be had from some of these fouls.
I had no problem with his performance.

From our view it seemed quite clear that Foster was waving an imitation yellow card at the referee, which is a card offence. Of course, I can't be certain that that was what he was doing, but that's how it appeared to us.
Maybe not clear on Clarets+?

It's hard to see on Clarets+. The yellow card was on 42 mins if anyone wants to check. It's possible he was card waving as he got up. Anyway, that would explain the card thanks.

I think the current thinking referee's thinking is that if someone falls over and it isn't really a foul, just give a free kick; if it is a proper foul, book him as well. Only if the ref is certain that it was a dive with no contact, then they will wave play on.
(I would rather they went back to the old rule where they didn't give a free kick at all when it wasn't a foul, but I doubt that's on the agenda.)

Lyle 100% waved the imaginary card at the referee. I said at the time he'd be booked for that. No complaints there at all
