In the last 2 years and including Odobert sale and also loan fees I’d estimate we have brought around £40m in from player sales. Likely that this is spread out over 3 or 4 years in terms of getting the money in.clarets1978 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 10:40 amIm not sure how you'd get a figure like that and I dont know why we'd need to know that. All clubs rely on transfer income as part of their accounts. Brightons massive profit is solely down to that
If we start seeing more factoring arrangements - basically borrowing money in anticipation of future income or monies owed then not only does this point to more cash flow issues but also that £40m is likely to be reduced by the astronomical fees these factoring companies charge.
You’ve also got agents fees and possibly some sell on clause fees from these sales - I don’t know whether any were payable from selling Odobert and Muric (they make up most of the estimated £40m)
Obviously how much we bring in from player sales is very relevant to a club like Burnley. I know you mention Brighton but they have a sugar daddy who put in nearly £600m subsidising their losses before they started to make money from player sales. We clearly do not one of them so knowing how much we are bringing in is important to lots of fans interested in how we are balancing our finances.
