Hardly had the chance to shine at Man Utd being down the pecking order, he's had x2 90 minute games scored x1 and been sub x6, Sevilla took him on loan but benched him for whatever reason, I personally think he'll become a massive crowd favourite at Burnley with his style of play, finger's crossed we get this over the linekentonclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 7:01 amWe are selling players who have shown that they can perform at PL level and replacing them with Championship level players. Sarmiento would only have stayed at Ipswich if they hadn’t been promoted. Hannibal has only shone at Championship level (Birmingham) but has failed to make the grade when stepping up a level (Manchester United and Sevilla).

Did they break records like that Kompany team, did they win a title at Ewood, it's not what you do it's how you do it that makes a legend in my opinion

I don't think any of us really want to see Benson leave. He scored some incredible goals in our last Championship campaign and gave us a moment at Ewood that will never be forgotten. However, as much a I like him, it's telling that Kompany rarely started him in the Championship and then chose to completely ignore him last season. On top of that, Parker hasn't given him a minute during the first two games. The Manager see's more than we do. There must be a reason Houtondji, Amdouni, Gudmundsson, Weghorst, Massengo and Zaroury have all been given the nod off the bench before him.

There was a moment in MTB 2 where a comment was made about a player drop in form for having a "night out with Bene may explain a lot) with raised eyebrows, so who knows what goes on behind the scenes.

Was Kolo having a night out with Bene. The issue wasn’t the night out as such, was more so the fact he was with bene.

This is why I'd be quite relaxed about losing Benson. There are serious question marks over his physical condition and whether he can really have much of an impact. He was amazing in those cameos two seasons ago but he's barely kicked a ball since then. I think anything close to £10 million would be fantastic money.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 11:08 pmPretty telling that benson hasn’t been involved in the first 2 games, was barely involved last year and wasn’t anything like a regular starter the year before.
He was great as an impact sub back then but he probably wants to be more than that and fair play to him. I’d be willing to bet 22/23 with us will turn out to be the best spell of his career though. 10m is an excellent fee in that context, if we can get it out of Leeds.
We’ll always be grateful for Ewood.

Wouter Berger would be a great signing although I haven't seen any links. Stoke paid around £4m for him I believe.

Nowhere is the answer. A very lazy FLW article last week suggested him as a possible Berge replacement as far as I can tell.
But if Stoke are interested in McNally there might be a deal to be done there. He was getting very good reviews last season and had some links to Spurs. Would definitely add some much needed height to our midfield.

£12m seems like an awful lot of money for an unproven CB when there’s talk of us letting an oven ready Premier League CB go for £15m.

12m for Humphries is a strange one.
You can only assume he's coming here to start games because we'd be repeating last seasons mistakes if we start commiting big money to players who aren't going to push the first team forward/improve us.

It’s an interesting one and surely we aren’t going to sell our two starting cb’s 3 weeks into a season (I’m thinking O’Shea will go, given all the speculation, but not Esteve as well!!). He’s a natural left footer but very comfortable on his right from what I’ve seen and read, played left back for Chelsea in pre-season and impressed their fans.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Maybe not for a side with top half ambitions but definitely a lower Prem team.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 9:10 amI’m not entirely sure we can class O’Shea as an oven ready premier league CB.

Do we and Leeds have the same scouting/analytic research on players, oarticularly midfield and wingers where we always seem to be linked with the same player, or is there a mole in either camp.

Are Leeds deliberately copying us now?

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Just my take, but i wonder if hes coming in now to settle in, play a bit (especially if we move to 3 at the back at times) with it more than likley Esteve will move on for big money in 12months or so. We then have his ready made replacement.
I think he’ll primarily cover for the 2 starting centre backs (and left back) instead of McNally or Delcroix, as he fits the home grown quota and they don’t. We can then shift those two out and with injuries we need cover even if Oshea doesnt go.

We're naturally going to be looking in similar markets for players, and the player's agent will always be looking to get competition going if a transfer is looking likely.warksclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 9:21 amDo we and Leeds have the same scouting/analytic research on players, oarticularly midfield and wingers where we always seem to be linked with the same player, or is there a mole in either camp.
