Yes, but then it was called "selling your best players" now it's "our model", as if Alan Pace himself invented it. I have no problem with us selling, it's our reality at the end of all, but it's really boring to watch third overhaul in a row.

I also have a feeling some of our fans are more concerned with making profit on players instead of actual results. Just a few pages ago, someone was turning his head to Trippier, an England international (who wouldn't want to join us in the first place) because he's too old for us to flip him in a few years.

By the way, one thing that came to my mind. Two years ago, almost every major player who left us did so before our first league game. Cornet was the only exception, but he didn't feature anyway. That strategy allowed Kompany to fully focus on committed players who we 100 % knew will stay with us through the season.

We already lost one player who started in Parker's first game, might lose a few more (O'Shea/Trafford) and a lot of subs have left/could leave (Zaroury, JBG, Weghorst, Amdouni...). Luckily, there's an international break ahead of us that could help us settle down a little bit.

Must keep Foster, Cullen, Esteve, Brownhill, Koleosho especially, Roberts (never thought I'd say that) and probably Amdouni. I'd include O'Shea but it's probably too late.

Need to keep Cullen and Brownhill and add at least one decent signing to that.
Need to keep at least one of Esteve and O’Shea - preferably both but looks like there is a bit too much noise around Dara to keep hold of him which is presumably why we have brought in Humphries and looking to bring in Worrall. Think that still leaves us pretty strong (for this league) at centre back.

Foster - yes but so think that given his previous issues we need to sign another striker. I know we have bought one but think he is unproven for me and I am concerned that this is a position where we don’t appear to be linked with anyone. If Foster is off for another lengthy period we are left with Jay (which is going to be tough for him) and the new lad. (Obafemi is clearly nowhere near good enough)

Koleosho - agree we need to keep….and add to our wide players. We do need at least one right sided player. Koleosho is still very much developing - cannot see how it helps him or us by playing him on the wrong side.

Roberts - either keep or we sign another right back of same quality…..so no point selling.

Amdouni - if he goes I think it will be because he wants to. Personally I am not bothered if we get our money back and invest that into the team. He was a massive let down for me and not sure he has the right attitude or footballing brain to be worth what we paid for him (if he stays I hope I am proven wrong or he’ll defo be off in January if he cannot shine in this league)

Look, I'm not saying model doesn't work. If we double our money, then we're obviously doing something right. I'm just stating the fact that it's really boring to see a third major squad overhaul and face two relegations in three years.

I, as a fan, am mostly concerned about results. I'd like us to win as many games as possible and try to compete in PL like we used to in the last years. I get that it's positive we have made 200 per cent profit on Odobert, but honestly, that doesn't really concern me that much.

I'm not an "ITK" but the fact that there were 3 clubs sniffing at some point, and the price was still locked at 15 million, might suggest that there's some kind of clause in his contract.

Can we stop pretending our previous "model" was focused only on bringing in oldies? Yes, we did sign some (and almost every single one did well) but at the same time, we also invested in younger, talented players like Taylor, Hendrick, Defour, Brady... It was working pretty well until we stopped investing.

I'm referring to the fact that the last few seasons if not more under JB/Garlick, the model was buy older and run down contracts rather than buy youth for development resale. I didn't say we never bought younger players. Brownhill the only previously young player we bought which we have developed and has retained if not increased in value in the 5 years he has been with us. Ings an we profited from youth development. Andre Grey we also made some money on

By and large, even going back to Chris Wood signing, we have never been a club which we bought in young players and sold for a profit. I prefer the progressiveness of this model, even if it does mean more player changes than we've even been used to. As long as its sustainable and puts the club first, I'm happy to see it continue. Especially in the molds of Brentford, Southampton, (dare I say, Brighton) etc
