Hello Goodbye
Anass ran the left wing in haste
But post World-Cup he never quite raced
Now he’s heading for Lens
That’s a small town in France
Where the cuisine is more to his taste

Re: Hello Goodbye
Zaroury leaves the Turf, a Clarets' dream,
To Lens he flies, in red and gold gleam.
But still in hearts, his memory rings,
For Burnley sang, "He runs down the wing for me."
A farewell wave to skies anew,
In France, he’ll chase the morning dew.
Yet in our songs, eternally free,
"He runs down the wing for me."
To Lens he flies, in red and gold gleam.
But still in hearts, his memory rings,
For Burnley sang, "He runs down the wing for me."
A farewell wave to skies anew,
In France, he’ll chase the morning dew.
Yet in our songs, eternally free,

Is this the work of the Bard of Salford ?.
Re: Hello Goodbye
Anass Zaroury was great for a while
He ran down the wing with flair and a smile
He went to the World Cup where he was a hit
But since he came back, he's been fairly sh!t.

Amdouni may head off abroad
But the goal of the season he’s scored
To Benfica please say
Loan him back for a day
The parade bus must have him on board

JBG rains in shots from afar
His best one was at QPR
Now he’s shooting to Saudi
For the cash and an Audi
All the best to him, Insha Allah

Re: Hello Goodbye
From Iceland’s cold, where glaciers gleam,
To Saudi sands, a different dream.
He left his mark on Turf Moor’s field,
But to new lands, his fate was sealed.
A northern heart, now bound for south,
With frost and fire in his mouth.
The Iceman's gone, his story spun,
From Burnley’s turf to the desert sun.

So Bennie might fly in a jet
But he hasn't gone anywhere yet
If he trains well he'll earn
A new Rover's Return
And stick one in the back of their net

Re: Hello Goodbye
In the '24/'25 season, what a delight,
Scott Parker’s Burnley, a glorious sight,
They strolled through the league, so calm, so cool,
Making their rivals look like fools.
Vaclav Hladky, between the sticks,
Made saves with ease, pulled off tricks,
Vitinho’s runs, a blur on the wing,
While Connor Roberts made defenses sting.
Lucas Pires, with style so sleek,
Joe Worrall’s tackles, solid and meek,
Dara O’Shea, no one got past,
And Maxime Esteve, built to last.
Josh Brownhill led, with Cullen too,
Midfield magic, they’d always brew,
Luca Koleosho, quick as a breeze,
Bashir Humphreys, cool and at ease.
Zeki Amdouni, the flair, the flash,
Lyle Foster’s goals, a lightning crash,
Jay Rodriguez, the local pride,
Scoring for fun, with Burnley’s stride.
Then came the day at Ewood Park,
Where Blackburn's fate was looking dark,
Scott Twine, sold off, but never done,
Returned to make the Rovers run.
With a twist and a turn, he found his spot,
And fired it home, a perfect shot,
Blackburn sank, to League One they fell,
While Twiney laughed, “I did that well!”
And what of Barnes, dear Ashley B,
Now with Norwich, but still cheeky,
An own goal scored, off his backside,
Winking at the Longside with Burnley pride.
That goal handed Burnley the title crown,
As Norwich fans just wore a frown,
Barnes couldn’t help but crack a grin,
For Burnley’s triumph, he'd helped win.
Vincent Kompany, what of him?
Bayern's job didn’t suit the brim,
He rued the day he left the Clarets,
“The beauty of Lancashire, no one merits.”
So Burnley soared, with laughter and ease,
Leaving Blackburn down on their knees,
A season to cherish, a tale so fine,
As Parker’s men made history shine!

His departure no longer concealed
Dara’s deal is now final and sealed
You might see him some time
In the parsley and thyme
He’s a tractor boy ploughing a field

Sick note now gone and just signed last week!
He’s gone to Saudi, finally back on his feet
Couldn’t wait to get away
Injured on arriving? When will he play?

Obafemi swanned off for a loan
Leaving Jayrod and Foz on their own
Now we’re thin on the ground
And bet-wetters abound
Can we borrow him back? Is that known?

Roses are red, violets are blue,
Players are fickle, managers are too.
But owners are honest, decent and think.....
"Why do fans think we are skint" ?
I've got a roller, villa & ship,
Keep buying the tickets, shirts & pies.
Only one more sale ... honest.

Re: Hello Goodbye
We were already right up the spout
Then lose Foster, and Bennie, and Wout
They play musical chairs
No commitment or cares
Will the last one please switch the lights out

Have we got to the point where we're immediately attacking our former players? I don't really understand.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 12:22 pmAnass, Anass Zaroury's

Re: Hello Goodbye
Manner of departure? He's a Burnley player, and you're pre-emptively telling him to f*ck off and p*ss off. I mean, that is your prerogative, and I've been around the internet long enough not to think I can influence other people's behaviour, but... well. You just enjoy it.
