I know it is just an unfounded rumour but i have just spotted this on X.
£200k per week
It wouldn't surprise me if it was true with it being Chelsea.

People do realise it’s not the Fofana we had. Right?

That was my first thought but they're both there. Still think whoever made it has managed to get themselves confused though.

Sterling and Chilwell. Over £1/2m per week. Not in the squad.
What a mess

Imagine being on that sort of money. Is there any other industry where people are paid that much? Do the top movie actors even get that much per week?

There is absolutely no way Datro Fofana is on £200k per week. Especially as a signing under Clearlake, it goes completely against their M.O. of signing young players to long contracts for a lot less than their perceived worth would be if they develop.
I think under Clearlake, Chelsea have reduced their players average weekly salary from over £200k per week to around £60k

They get paid per film.
Tom Cruise got around $100 million for Top Gun : Maverick, including a ticket sales percentage.
But that's probably exceptional.
As for Fofana, i wouldn't have paid him in buttons.

Take a look at US sport. LeBron James is the 14th highest paid player in the NBA, at slightly under a million dollars a week.
The average NBA salary is $10.7mn, or the equivalent of £7.8mn, or around £150 grand a week.

Tom Cruise could probably do a job in the PL.

No chance, he signed from Molde where he will have been on a grand or 2 max, more likely he is on 25-40.
