Broadband Advice

Post by claretskeith » Fri Aug 23, 2024 11:24 am

I'm currently with TalkTalk and the contract has expired (rolling). Currently paying over £42/month for around 60 Mbps so might as well leave and pay less for a much faster speed (their upgrade offers are rubbish).

I can't get Virgin Media where I live, and a check on price comparison sites is coming up with:

Vodafone Full Fibre 500 @ £27.30/month (although that includes messing around with reward cards)
Plusnet Full Fibre 500 @ £31.99/month

Anybody use the above who can comment?
Any alternatives I should check directly with their website?

There's also the option of going back to Sky on their deal at around £33/month for 500.

If its just broadband you want (ie no TV package) you really can't beat BRSK, if you can get it in your area.

I've used them for 12 months and it's been nothing but perfect - customer service has been spot on when I've spoke to them about their referral programme too (I've had 4 lots of £75 amazon vouchers off them so far, increased speeds from 100meg upto 500meg DL soeed PLUS saved £1 a month VS my previous Virgin internet offering.

If you can get it where you live I couldn't recommend enough. My referral link is below which will take you to a page to check out their packages. (We both get the Amazon Vouchers on you paying your first bill)

Great if you don't mind a telegraph post plonking outside your house.

We've been with Plusnet for the past 5 years or so.

No problems at all.

We've had issues with various providers before that.

Where I am in Scotland, I have no physical route to my home for telephone etc. I therefore have a 3 broadband router. Uses the mobile network.

Speed incoming is mid sixties. Copes with streams etc.

I started with a tenner a month, for 6 months then £20 as normal. Then, as they all do, inflation increase.

Phone sim £12. I get 70-90mb on that.

Both unlimited data.

There is a deal on for 5G internet with Three. If you have a good 5G signal then it may be good for you. £24 per month but you get the first 6 months half price. If you go via a Cashback site you can also get £75 Cashback Referral link below where you’ll also get a further £10 - https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/starkraving/

Great to hear.

What speed do you have and how much are you paying?
