Just made a great sweeping pass out to the right wing though.
I knew if I wrote something like that he'd suddenly pull out a world-class pass

I think they do, they're just trying to wing it and get promoted whilst taking a huge chunk of cash in sales too. Madness.
Certainly only in it for themselves. And that's the problem. If you have owners who don't care about the club and it's history, you're always going to be in trouble.

I know... We were poor last time in this league, and I don't recall you saying that during, or after the last two games.
I said it before a ball was kicked, this season.

As bad as we've been it's only 1-0 against a properly decent team. Some changes at half time AMDOUNI and we could turn the screw a bit in the second half.

If we take Jay Rod off and pick a fan from the stands, atleast we'll start the second half 11v11.

With so many changes it's hard to see a pattern.

Without Odobert and Kolosheo everything is one paced and we are back to passing it around at the back.

There seems to be little movement up front and no one capable of breaking the lines. Needs a change at half time of personnel or tactics.

Shocking first half but no surprise based on that starting 11
Sunderland for me are not that great but they don’t need to be today
Can’t see what SP can do to change things round with that bench.

Terrible half. Nothing to change it on the bench. How many are actually ill and now many are leaving. Not a lot to feel positive about. If players like Egan Riley are around the first team this season we have gone a long way backwards.

That's a fairly acccurate assessment.
Not sure who we bring on with pace to shake it up after all the sales.
Can only field who is fit.
Definitely 2nd best in most phases.

Just said the exact same. We look extremely poor creatively when we don't have Odobert/Koleosho available to carry the ball. We've been poor in the middle too without Cullen but we were against Cardiff.

Desperately need to get someone on who can break the lines- Amdouni on for a last role of the dice. This is the exact game that a Benson is needed for imo- where you've been poor but individual quality sees you through. I think we've lost that edge.

Utter garbage.

Sunderland have pressed hard and with our lack of midfield it's been difficult. Both fullbacks have struggled to get forward and the forward line look totally lost.

Needs shaking up definitely. One effort all half?

whilst we are clearly low on numbers for whatever reason , they have really not had that many great chances for all the bluster. On a plus Ive been quite impressed with Massengo and think other thasn his poor header, Houdini has done ok. Calling it now 1-2 Foster x 2

As bad a 45 mins I've seen for a long time. I'm furious, but not at the team.

The idea you have to get rid of everyone who wants a move is ridiculous. Ronaldo wanted to leave Man United, Ferguson said "give me one more year". It's not black and white, the players signed a contract, are professionals and humans...they can be persuaded. You saw how happy they all looked on tour and against Luton.

Is the club up for sale yet? or have ALK a few more to sell? Koleosho, Foster and Brownhill might give them a bit more money to take with them.

You could sub anyone off but the reality is any good replacement has been sold or is in the process of being sold. Sad, sad state of affairs.

CJ Egan-Riley starting…I’m still absolutely amazed by this situation. Negligence and so unfair on Parker.

I know Brownhill is better in the championship. But he has absolutely no leadership or character.

Hiding at every opportunity.
I don't necessarily agree about Brownhill but we are definitely lacking leadership on the pitch. We really could do with a Barton type to drag this team up.

This is what happens when you don’t have actual wingers playing on the wing. They can’t beat men and go past them in tight spaces so they check back and pass it in field or backwards. Absolutely criminal that we have gone into a game with a line up like this.

It seems odd choosing Egan-Riley (little experience at this level) over a player with two successful seasons in the Championship (McNally), Worrall obviously to come in.
I can only assume Amdouni's off, and on the bench because there's literally nobody else.
But, given who's available I'm not sure what team SP could have chosen.
It's very odd that we've now got no real wingers, having had a bus load up until recently.
Lucky to get to halftime only one down.
Will be a miracle if we get anything out of this.
Still, hopefully there'll be a few new faces and the non-contributing squad players will leave in the next week.

Sunderland had three CMs playing, and for most of the half, we struggled to get past them. They kept us penned in and under the cosh. We are lucky to be only one goal down.

We can't be this poor again in the second half. This is where we find out about tactics regarding Paker and commitment to the cause regarding the players.

We need 5 new signings - and that's 5 new signings good enough to walk straight into the first team.

As things stand - we are not going up. Not a hope in hell.

Poor. 0-1 flatters us, but hardly a surprise given the starting 11.

Big week coming up.
