No players give a toss about the club, they sign for the money. Look at JBG, dropped us without a second thought to move to a newly promoted Saudi team. JBG is one you would think would care.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 6:33 pmHe’s signed a shed load of players that don’t give a toss about the club and we are seeing the outcome of that now.
Who cares about the money it’s not like it’s going to benefit the club.
Seriously if you can’t see the damage he has done your just not a fan of this club your a fan of his.
Whilst Kompany clearly signed too many, it’s obvious relegation has affected the finances of which the board should have been more responsible with.

Not sure there’s going to much in it tbh..CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 5:56 pm
Whatever the rebuild, it will be less than 2 years ago.
In terms of sheer quantity of players it’s looking like we will lose more this summer.
In terms of impact it’s much worse this time as it looks from the outside that we are not sure who is leaving next or what is happening from day to day. We could see another 5 or 6 or even more players leave this week. It gives us hardly any time to bring in new players and also feels SP is under far greater constraints in the market than VK was.
I know we need to wait till the end of the window but even the biggest optimist must be wondering what is going on.

True. Shameful from us as a club for somebody who got us up and scored ‘that’ goal.

The reason we are seeing so many leave is because we signed some really good players under VK. Players who top teams want to sign.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Which players have gone to top teams??
Odobert gone to Spurs are they really a 'top' team?
Stop banging the VK drum he's gone and screwed us over.

The only positive I can see atm is, if he left out wout and Benson on the basis they saw their future elsewhere then Amdouni you'd deduce does want to be here
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I mean teams in top leagues, in a currently better position than us.
If VK signed such crap players why are they all moving on for profit?

Never known a week like this as commented on another thread. Bizarre situation and something doesn’t feel right. Are we in a financial situation where we have to sell? We won’t be anywhere near top 2 if next week carries on like the last.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Majority weren't crap players for this level, some have gone to Ipswich when your claiming they've all gone to top teams.
We haven't sold anybody to a top team.
Some of them are leaving because of how VK treated them last season
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
15+ players? Name them?
They bought in to the VK dream and came for that reason. VK has gone and now there is no dream for them , so they want out. Shallow on the player side, and if we had RVN as manager probably would not be happening. However Scott is a proven success rather than an influencer of a player with legendary status that shallow players would rather play for.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
A week or so ago I said i believed everyone was for sale and that seems nailed on. Whatever the reason (Kompany or debt or wanting out ) Alan Pace and the board are close to destroying our club. Incompetence, infatuation with a man, cluelessness, loss of interest etc…. They are the route cause of what’s unraveling.
Ive been relatively chilled about them but this now taking the P***
Lose next week and they deserve every bit of vitriol which comes their way.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
The players linked with departures I'm not surprised by. We had a lot of average that we needed to move away from in order to step up. Then there are the OShea, Berge, Odobert, Koleosho and Weghost group of genuine quality that as a relegated team you expect that most of will go. But to have all of that group plus nearly all of the fit attacking players also be sold at the same time is astonishing mismanagement.
We all know the model is to sign low and sell once they get a name. But having entire squad overhauls like this every summer just isn't sustainable. 22/23 was necessary due to contracts running out etc, 23/24 was odd but understandable to try and bridge the gap to the Premier league and as some were seen as ones for the future. To then do it all over again this summer is such bad management by the owners.
Perhaps it is too soon to judge right now. But with a week to go in the window, there is a lot to sort out still.

You have a more pessimistic view on the finances than I, I tend to think we had to sell plenty but we have now passed the point (after O’Shea) where we would move into either a loss for the year or terrible cashflow. Now we are into the rest of the players who insist on going, and the degree to which the club try to keep them,
What is vital to me is AFTER O’Shea goes any further sales should be met with equivalent spending. That and saying that Esteve, Cullen, Koleosho and Foster are not for sale at any price. If we do that OK in the coming week, we’ll be fine.

Promotion with everything that comes with it will be worth in excess of £150 million.
No amount of player sales will come close and simply puts any promotion at severe risk.

Posters staying quiet after wins might just be enjoying the wins, nothing wrong with them voicing concerns with what looks to be going on right now
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
So many posters seem convinced that Foster is the best striker in this league. If that is the case, why has a single team in a tier 1 league anywhere ever been linked for him in 18 months?
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
We can argue all night. The only thing that will change this mess is if we sign enough quality players to give SP a chance.

Does some really good things, but then in a game just isn’t part of it and has produced not a lot since he’s been here.

The tipping point for me this week was selling Gudmundsson, that was a major red flag after bringing him back.
Also...although I know nothing of goings on, I would put my house on Jack Cork being given a contract this week to show just how bad a state we are in

Sounds like we are selling Benson to a club we consider or considered a promotion rival too in Leeds.
