To me being 'cool' is not really caring about what others think nor following trends, just being your authentic-self with conviction.
Just passing a few hours of this Sunday morning. Hard not to be annoyed isn't it? We all care about this club.

I’m not expecting any incomings, unless they’re panic buys.

I've no idea who it was destined for, I didn't see it personally but my mate has and said it looked as though it was prepared for an agent.
Perhaps, the board had asked him to send it, who knows, I've already said too much, I'm just ****** off with it all.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Wow!!
I am not one to pass on unfounded rumours but I am going to go ahead and do it.
I've just been on the Gawthorpe circular walk. Walking back near the training ground i bumped into a chap who was pretty irate.
He then proceeded to tell me that the sales are all on the club. It's us who are offering players out to clubs. He said that we had hired a few agencies this summer who's job has specifically been to get rid of our players.
He then told me that the academy director has somehow sent the list to the players whats app group.
You can take it with a pinch of salt as it was just a random guy but i found it quite interesting

Get the feeling that more links will arise today to outgoings and very little the other way around.
Someone needs to come through that revolving door, on the entrance side.

On Saturday a spine of worrall, Esteve, cork and brownhill (if Cullen doesn’t make it) would do nicely against rovers

Cork? Seriously?
I loved Jack while he was here, but he certainly isn’t the answer. Just like Rodriguez isn’t the answer for us up top.

Precisely and to be honest, I can only imagine if someone in the FAB actually challenged Pace akin to how some on here do with, not with conjecture but genuine points that they'd end up removed pretty quickly.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 10:22 amI never understand posters commenting on people venting frustration by telling them to relax and pour a drink, this is the one place to actually show your frustration, can’t rely on the FAB to show their frustration for us
I mean, the scene in MtB2 with the betting sponsor and the radar silence after Pace's reply about Anass shows what a pointless exercise it is.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
OK so sifting through numerous rumours and ITKs the alleged situation I'm interpreting on here (my speculation on what I have read) is:
As we went down like with all clubs we have to raise funds so made it known that virtually all players could be sold if good offers come in, and the club used 3rd parties to try to broker those deals. I suspect that is normal practice for most relegated clubs without rich owners (some will gamble on bearing a loss, going back up, and taking a points penalty when back for FFP breaches, but our club isn't in a good enough financial situation to do that). That strategy almost be definition requires a physical list, which may or may not have had some "observations" on it about player characteristics, either an official addition or someone acting on their own. This list has then incompetently ended up in the player's Whatsapp groups. Which has unsettled them all and caused a stressful and destabilising situation which has led to some declaring themselves not in a position to play. The club may had to do some disciplinary action, and also likely had some clear the air talks with players.
Is that the majority view on what has gone on? To me that sounds entirely plausible, and is really a flaw in leadership and crisis management. But it isn't necessarily fatal.
On the plus side, these are professionals, and this will likely blow over as soon as the window closes. The key is getting enough good players in and stopping a few leaving. On another plus side, I'm not determining this set of errors is Parker's fault and shouldn't lead to a lack of dressing room unity. He can play "good cop" in this and come out in favour with the players, to our benefit.

If the players dont want to play for Parker/Burnley, Parker has said they can go. So that may be why so many have gone or will go. Lets hope that they can replace them, or Burnley are going to have a very small squad.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
People really need to stop fantasising about how good Cork used to be.
He was brilliant for us but to think he can still do it is complete fantasy.
Before he lost his place in the team he was already struggling to keep up with play. All he did was give away free kicks.
He was a yellow card waiting to happen.
He was probably lucky to stay on the pitch at Ewood and he wasn't even on for long.
There's no way he's improved by not playing for 18 months.
He obviously doesn't believe it himself or he wouldn't have accepted a coaching role he would have found another club to play for.

I wouldn’t get too hung up on what Brownhill said. We all knew it was going to be difficult to keep our players for different reasons and that until the window shuts things could change dramatically day by day, so this last couple of weeks was always going to be a difficult time for the players.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
The problem is in what is determined as value to the Club as this drives behaviours and activities.
The value to us fans is the football side of things, playing well, winning and being near the top of the table.
The value to Pace and co is just money, they will do anything for money at the detriment of the football. And here we are.

To be honest though, some of these lads came from unknown leagues and were literally nobodies when they arrived. I’d be surprised if they demanded or we were stupid enough to agree to release clauses.
I’ve often defended the owners but this just smacks of being in a direr financial position than I thought or completely weak leadership.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
That interview by Josh is very revealing, he and the dressing room are clearly in distress right now.
I do wonder if all this could be as a result of that one WhatsApp message. A tight group fostered by Parker, completely disrupted by lots of first team players hearing harsh words about themselves and realising a percentage of them aren't wanted.
This all fell apart one week ago, which ties in with this message being sent out. Doesn't sound like a pleasant place to be right now, which with one week left of the window could very well be why they all want out.

With the early chances and getting into our box late on they should still have won 3 or 4 nil
The nil was our likely score
So 1 was always enough for them
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I get all this - if they are not happy they can go but is it not our duty to try and change their mindset and get them up for to battle it out for the next 12 months. Could it be a case their pay drop is too much to accept.
Big week ahead for Pace- very naive leaving all this to the last 5/6 days.
Fingers crossed he can produce a few rabbits.

For the leaked what’s app message
If you want to sell any players you can and as many as you can, some that may not want to go , maybe have a settled life up here and Parker’s appointment stabilised that with a happier work environment too.
Craftily unsettling those players would be a way to increase the momentum of those sales if you were under pressure to rake in more funds with less than 2 weeks to do it

Given the toxic environment that appears to have been created at the club I would be surprised if there was a major influx of “quality signings” as some seem to be expecting/hoping for, but more likely some panic buying in January.

I will repeat the Pace American business plan for those who have not seen it
Sell season tickets with squad in tact
Get parachute payments
Sell Manager
Bring in new Manager on false promises
Sell as many players as possible
Share profit with investors
Easy

How bad must things be that O’Shea has gone to a club he had reportedly turned down. I think it’s poor from O’Shea to, he’s going to be back in the champ again next season

I've said on another thread, this is not a black and white line. They don't do a show of hands, "who wants to go and who wants to stay?" A player can be persuaded they are a vital cog in the squad, that they are young and a year in the championship will do them good. That if they still want to leave if we're not promoted they can etc.midlands claret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 11:23 amIf the players dont want to play for Parker/Burnley, Parker has said they can go. So that may be why so many have gone or will go. Lets hope that they can replace them, or Burnley are going to have a very small squad.
They are professionals contracted to the club, and while you don't want a huge bunch of players unhappy they all looked part of a motivated group at Luton. We do not have to sell everyone who fancies leaving. Once the window is shut and the focus becomes solely winning, most professional players without a huge ego will knuckle down. Amdouni is one I'd simply say no to leaving. He actually put a lot of graft in when he came on to. Same goes for Esteve, Brownhill, Cullen, Koleosho. Tbh I'd have said the same to Weghorst too.
Players are human beings, if they feel important and they are being told the truth they will usually respond positively. Someone like koleosho is so young, if he lights up the championship his readiness to step up only improves rather than warming a bench.
It's a delicate balance, but you can't just let everyone go of any value. Of course they all think they can play at a higher level. Fine, prove it.

Does that not speak volumes about our situation if so? If Dara knows something we don’t and is happy to go down with Ipswich, potentially of course, then we could be in deeper shite than we know123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 12:13 pmHow bad must things be that O’Shea has gone to a club he had reportedly turned down. Koleosho owes us some loyalty after we nursed him through his injury
He is our only creative spark that teams can't handle. If he insists on moving we have to be looking at North of £30m with 25% resale. He is a massive talent also Wolves have £ 95m in recent sales

Although he improved throughout the year he’s another player to add to the list of players that was mainly below par last season and got us in this position and yet feel entitled to a move because they’re ’better than the Championship’. Can’t wait for him to be pushing for another move in 12 months time because he’s in the exact same situation. Silly silly silly123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 12:13 pmHow bad must things be that O’Shea has gone to a club he had reportedly turned down.
