Team for Wolves
Do you think we should rest all those that played yesterday so they are fresh for Saturday?

Whoever is due to play on Saturday shouldn't start against Wolves
Re: Team for Wolves
Not a lot of options unfortunately. Debuts for Worrall and Humprheys, maybe give minutes to some youngster?

Re: Team for Wolves
In all seriousness I wouldn’t play many who are due to play Saturday I’d go for something like this but again some may have left by then.
Green
Sambo McNally Humphrey’s Dodgson (is he still here)
Massengo Egan-Riley
Agyei Masara Hountondji
Jay
I couldn’t figure out who was fit, who had niggles and who had left to come up with a second string which, a week or so again was an absolute doddle.

Let the board decide they seem to know what they are doing
Re: Team for Wolves
Looked like the Carabao Cup team got played yesterday
Re: Team for Wolves
I'd go with the strongest 11 we have by Wednesday
Green
Sambo Egan-Riley Humphreys Dodgson
Hugill McDermott
Agyei Masara Hountondji
McNally
The new lad we brought on to play up front at the end on Saturday looked effective so deserves a start.

Could not be less arsed about the Wolves game.
All about the weekend. Hilarious drama-queenery on this messageboard but it hasn't quite turned toxic yet. A poor performance/defeat against that lot and it will.

3-4-2-1 as somehow we literally have no wingers any more.

We need a win for morale. We can't afford to play a backup team because we don't have one.

Early kick off on Saturday must be the priority and our team selection on Wednesday should reflect that.claretskeith wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 2:58 pmWe need a win for morale. We can't afford to play a backup team because we don't have one.

Currently leading 2-1 against Stourbridge so might not be a bad idea.

Re: Team for Wolves
I was planning on attending the Wolves match, but after selling so many players to fuel Pace's fantasy project I have decided not to contribute any of my money to his project.

Would like to see more from our new striker Lucio Macneelio.
Re: Team for Wolves
The Wolves game is essentially the only pre-season game for what is basically a new squad. We need to play whatever passes for the first XI.

Re: Team for Wolves
Normally it's a total rest for the first Xl..However if we have a few new signings in the camp, we need to play a full first team for integration purposes.
That's my biggest worry about Saturday,.that lot have got a very settled team and have added some experience and quality..

Re: Team for Wolves
Don’t care who plays Wednesday right now it’s a match we really don’t need Saturday is far more important for more than one reason. How can anyone pick a team when we don’t know who will still be at the club i would be surprised if SP knows

Re: Team for Wolves
Gk: Alastair Campbell .... a back 4 of King Charles III, John Kettley, Jordan North & Bertie Bee, midfield Alan Pace, Andy Farrell, Visah and Justine, the Landlady of the " Royal Dyche ... JJ Watt as a target-man with Eric Knowles playing off him, as he's used to picking up " bits and pieces "

Re: Team for Wolves
This is either a game we really don't need right now, or an ideal opportunity to play the side that will face rovers.
It'll no doubt fall somewhere in the middle.

There's been a squad list on this site since it was set up, Frank.
There's currently 32 of them left, although some of them will be injured.

Who’s is the best forward at U21 level?
I would play him/them, if it’s between a couple of them, at Wolves

Best team possible. Love a cup run!

Roberts Worrall Esteve Pires
Vitinho Massenga Brownhill Houtondji
Amdouni
Foster
Worrall and Esteve are presumably the pairing we'll be relying on going forward so this is a great opportunity for them to play together. The midfield clearly didn't function very well at Sunderland so we need the same pairing to work together to try and improve on that. Houtondji is clearly more in need of game time than Koleosho. Rest Jay Rod for Saturday and give Amdouni some minutes.
I always get the feeling with these cup games that if you make too many changes you end up with a really disjointed performance and invariably lose. Losing wouldn't be the end of the world but we need to get something out of the game even if it's just improved understanding between certain players and an opportunity for the coaching staff to see how certain combinations can work.
