Likely but one article might beat it.
I hope you are joking. What a statement that would be. The new Dale Stevens era beckons.
We need pace and guile up the pitch.

If the first two signings are Jack Cork and John Egan i think we can be prepared for a meltdown

I tried to say it in a polite manner. ...Just read the title of the thread. I would say it's pretty self explanatory and has no reference to the finances of the club. No issue discussing it just on a separate thread.
So discussing the financial reasons as to why we have to sell x, or why we can't buy y isn't allowed in a transfer window discussion thread?
I know some don't like talking money, but it's the driving factor behind transfer window activity and it's near impossible for finance not to be mentioned as part of these conversations.

Is centre half going to be the 2024 summer windows version of 2023s wingers? Why the heck do we need Egan now after signing 2 centre backs this week and having a plethora in the background?

Egan and Cork filling in a squad that is going to probably have about three spaces left after outgoings?

Hasn’t LongsideClaret already said there won’t be anymore centre halves coming in, unless we get mega money for Esteve?

John Egan first in ?
If we sign John Egan thinking it solves ANY of our problems, we might as well give up.

Maybe SP's philosophy now is to sign anyone he can get, considering the fact that what's going on within the club isn't going to attract very many, of course it's certainly not the answer but I've got a feeling Egan can also play cm, could simply be a case of numbers.

Al-Dakhil deal done for €9m. Takes our income from player sales to £105m at the low end to £120m at the high end.

He also said Egan had been training with us for a couple of days but a deal looked unlikely earlier this month.
Similarly Parker said there was nothing to report on the Mikey Johnston links.

Just astonishing , and more to come it would seem. And some want no discussion of the club's finances on this thread...

These figures seem on the high side but obviously more sales expected this week to at least bridge the gap.

Incredible destruction of squad value really.
Although I do think they’ve got good valuations, by and large. Some of the prize assets could’ve gone for more, but overall every fee has been pretty good.
Have to imagine that Trafford, Amdouni and Benson could push that to ridiculous levels.

The ONLY way this might work for us is if they send someone our way on loan. Someone who will walk into our starting XI. If not, tell them to do one.

Wise words.
Some equally astute posters have already alluded to this pattern.
A week is a long time in transfer window, as we've just witnessed.

If we still need to sell and/or convince debtors of future income streams, then Trafford would be a better option if we cam keep Kolo, Esteve and Amdouni.

At least any incomings over the next 5 days will show what level of ambition, if any, the hierarchy of the club have left for the rest of this season and beyond.

To those still with us come the weekend, it must be extremely unsettling to see so many of your colleagues leave. I think in any workplace it would give a feeling of being left behind. Strong characters coming in are a must. I think we’ve got one in Worrall, we will need a few more.

When you specifically said 'player sales' I assumed that you wouldn't have included compensation for Kompany. It appears you are including add-ons. The £120.5m figure is inflated. We've also had to pay transfer fees eg Tresor, Esteve. Nevertheless, the volume of player sales by the end of this week will be revealing.

Yeah you are right I should have said player sales + Kompany. The idea of my numbers is ranging them from base fee to add ons from what’s been reported the best I can.

Trafford going is fine, maybe a little concern that he's been picked over Hladky so far but clearly we've already placed him.
Al-Dakhil doesn't feel so good but there's probably never been a Championship team that turns down £9 million for someone who wouldn't get in their team.

Problem is I doubt this will come of the debt, more likely to be in ALK bank account, debt stays with the club does it not, and continues to rise.

Being realistic maybe someone like Targett the left back? I’m not sure Pires is particularly up to it and we could do with some additional strength on that position too.

It's going to be the aggregated effect of the number of players sold by the end of the window that's the overriding concern. The fees we are getting are reasonable - so those who refer to 'fire sale' are using an inappropriate term. Out of all the squad the sale of Trafford for good money made most sense at the start of the transfer window..

In isolation, I would’ve thought it would make sense to get rid of Trafford, but now it just reeks of desperation.

Well I can't. But how do you explain £230m of debt. Where's that come from. Club had money in the bank before this lot took over.

He got two at Luton. Not sure where you get the other from.
Besides which I don’t base my opinion purely on stats. He looks weak defensively, made numerous bad decisions v Sunderland, his touch has looked way off it - he just doesn’t look up to the level that might help this team challenge at the top.
Of course, I’m not writing him off. Just merely suggesting that we need someone to challenge him in that position and I’ve not been convinced by him in the first three games. Some supporters seem to get carried away with certain players because of their nationality……
