Indeed. If we’d signed him in his prime you can only dream about the money we could have sold him for.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 11:23 amWouldn't really expect him to say no. Something he's dreamt about all his life.
If he does sign I feel it’s written in the stars he scores the winner on Saturday.

Decent signing if it happens but I’d have preferred Billing tbh
Maybe we can get lucky and get both

Hannibal one of the ones today. Two wingers as well. Sounds like our main winger may be on the way out.

Imagine that refers to Koleosho, in which case that’s pretty devastating news and looks like more lies on the “knock”.LongsideClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 12:01 pmHannibal one of the ones today. Two wingers as well. Sounds like our main winger may be on the way out.
We’d better be getting an exceptional fee for him.

I’m also a big fan of Billing. Have liked him since the first day I saw him on the Turf. Would add real physical presence. No idea if theres anything in it though.

All these VK signed players leaving to me is a clear the decks moment. Perhaps SP gave them all an ultimatum, do you want to be here or not, if not feck off.
Bold move, but he needs people who want to be here

In mission to Burnley 2 Matt Williams mentioned some players had wanted what if kompany leaves clauses putting in. He laughed and kind of joked it off. Think it’s clear what’s happening. Anyone who’s fit and young who Kompany signed is off

If it happens we have gone back further than two seasons ago.
There is no excuses. We might as well get Dyche back in and gone down under him 2 years ago. Literally we have nothing to show for the last two years but a shitter squad and more debt.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I'm actually not that bothered about Koleosho leaving - as long as it's for a lot of money.
He's not a great footballer. If we can bring 2 or 3 wingers in who are technically better players and still have a bit of pace about them then I'm personally fine with this.
People are banging on like Koleosho is Messi mark II. He's not!

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Odobert I can understand he proved it at the level but other than his pace koleosho really hadn’t shown much technical ability and then got injured, for him to jump ship straight away unless it’s a another 30m deal seems absolutely ridiculous.
The club also need to sort the admin out posting a picture of him ‘supporting the team’ on Saturday. Have they not learned by posting the kompany next season plans video when he was going to Bayern

We should be signing 2 wingers IN ADDITION to keeping Koleosho. Shambles.

His unrivalled pace would cause chaos at this level , we currently have zero fit wingers if this is the case, an unbelievable notion in recent tines

If we sell for a big profit and we daisy chain then I am quite content for it to happen. The re-investment is the important aspect and let's be honest, if there's anything the american owners have definitely done; it is invest in the playing stock.
We make a profit from sales and move on.
A sound business model.
In all honesty, why would you stand in the way of a young professional who is wanted by an EPL club? A player who missed half of his playing time through injury.
Move on.

Koleosho doesn’t even have to be named in the 25 man squad so doesn’t even help with squad size but he then needs replacing.
We needed 2 wingers and koleosho so we now need 3

The other two are left wingers so it’s hard to conclude we’re keeping Koleosho unless we’re moving him to the right.
The two are the players I didn’t rate.
Hannibal a good signing though.

I agree.
Fee likely somewhere between the Berge and Odobert numbers. We’ve rejected the offers so far but they may come in again.

It’s unbelievable to me that people can have the view they don’t care about our best players leaving. Amdouni next. Trafford. When does it stop? What a joke. Oh and absolutely no one has said anything about Messi or made that comparison, very weird comment.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 12:11 pmI'm actually not that bothered about Koleosho leaving - as long as it's for a lot of money.

I take your point from the players point of view. I’d just hoped that we would put up more of a fight to keep him or persuade him to give us one more season that’s all.
On a seperate note. I hope one of the 2 wingers is that French lad from Paris fc

Remind me again how many games he's played for us?
Yes, he could be very good, and I don't want to lose him, but not one I'd be sending my season ticket back for

So are they actually so thick they think we can push for promotion with the likes of Sarmiento/Anthony/Johnston/Vitinho on the wing? Good luck with that.
Awful transfer window, and I don't want to hear excuses about profit and that you can't keep players who want to leave.

See, all these outgoings have looked pretty good business in isolation. The fees have been good. But it's just gone way too far now and I don't think we're going to be left with anything remotely resembling a team/squad that's capable of a promotion challenge
