there is every chance that Tresor doesn't have a relegation clause on his wage so sending him out on loan is the best option here - hope he does well enough that the loss for us next summer isn't as massive as it would be now

If we can keep Koleosho it would give the fans such a boost for Saturday and beating Rovers would be the icing on the cake ( Surely Pace wouldn’t be so stupid as to sell him) if he wants to go tell him that if he puts a shift in and we get any good bids then he can go in January.PremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 7:15 pmLong way to go before we know Koleosho is staying.

Bit late to log back in but 1/2 isn’t a bad guess (wasn’t trying to be cryptic - I’d had a moan about Sarmiento and Anthony last week so assumed it was obvious).Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 12:22 pmIf this is anything to go by I’m guessing at Jayden Anthony and Mikey Johnston
Don’t think Johnston has ever been a target but if I’m honest, at the reported fees, I’d much prefer him to either.
Hannibal a good signing in my opinion, the other two are huge downgrades on what we had and like Longside can only imagine they mean Koleosho is off (not heard that for avoidance of doubt).

Do you really know enough to say they are huge downgrades? Anthony produced as much as Benson or Zaroury in bournemouth's promotion season. Wasn't as good last year, but then neither was Zaroury. You could argue Zaroury is better, but massively so? I don't think anything really backs that up.NewClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 7:35 pmBit late to log back in but 1/2 isn’t a bad guess (wasn’t trying to be cryptic - I’d had a moan about Sarmiento and Anthony last week so assumed it was obvious).

Nice are currently discussing signing Trésor on a loan deal. Le Parisien understands that the deal would also include an obligation to make the move permanent come the end of the season.

Wasn’t speculating that signing those two meant Koleosho might be off. Had heard we’d turned down £22m so far and was expecting them to come in again. If the BBC guy is correct that wolves are backing away then that’s great news. We needed 2 wingers in before the koleosho links tbf so I don’t think these 2 have any bearing on koleosho and I stick by that I can see Sarmiento featuring in the odobert at Luton role rather than just being a left wingerNewClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 7:35 pmBit late to log back in but 1/2 isn’t a bad guess (wasn’t trying to be cryptic - I’d had a moan about Sarmiento and Anthony last week so assumed it was obvious).

Maybe. My view on Sarmiento is he lacks pace, which potentially matters less in the 10/“Odobert role”. So maybe SP has a plan that’ll unleash his best qualities, and I’ll give full credit to him if he works out a great solution.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 7:45 pmWe needed 2 wingers in before the koleosho links tbf so I don’t think these 2 have any bearing on koleosho and I stick by that I can see Sarmiento featuring in the odobert at Luton role rather than just being a left winger

Not seen enough of him but it will be a struggle for him to be as poor at Amdouni was at playing no 10.
Odobert was a pleasant surprise at how well he played in this role against Luton but that was one game and against an opposition who very easy to pick off with a simple ball over the top. Noticed Spurs reverted him back to the wing and he seemed to have a good game (or at least first half) v Everton (though tbh Everton were not much better than Luton !!)

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Sorry - had discussed these two last week & had a right old moan about them to RV so thought it was obvious.
Think Sarmiento is slow and predictable and Anthony’s return sort of speaks for itself.
Being honest, if these are Parker signings I’m struggling with them. Thats not a go at him, I was unconvinced about his appointment, have been impressed with his interviews since, equally impressed with his results (bar Sunderland - which he gets a pass from me on, given the circumstances), but underwhelmed with performances. So overall I’m a middling with him and happy to be proved completely wrong about these guys, but these signings are downgrades in my view. Feel the Hannibal one is more impressive.

Nothing “new”. I expect Hannibal, Sarmiento and Anthony to be announced before we next play.
Those outgoings discussed for a while like AAD could be confirmed at any point.

Always thought LW was Odoberts best position and didn’t like the idea he had been switched (seemingly for Koleosho).Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 7:55 pmNot seen enough of him but it will be a struggle for him to be as poor at Amdouni was at playing no 10.

Would’ve loved to see him left, Koleosho right and Amdouni more central.
Tbh, don’t see how anyone can compare Sarmiento and Amdouni in that role when Sarmiento hasn’t played in that position (to my knowledge) and certainly not in a poor premier league side. He could be brilliant in it in the Championship but unless we see Amdouni have a go there, it’ll be hard to compare.

We need players who will make the opposition fear us. Odobert is one. Koleosho is another. I'm with you; you do not sell both under any circumstances. Otherwise we aren't going up.

Seems to love scoring at Turf Moor and since we play 23 games there this season I’d have him back like a shot.
