Surely if that's an option - he'd prefer us again
I'd have him over J Rod

Seems to love scoring at Turf Moor and since we play 23 games there this season I’d have him back like a shot.
If he'd never played for us before would you still be as excited?

Think I’ve read this somewhere on here already, but we have enquired about Billing.
I think that would be a good signing.
You think it would be a good signing, it would be an excellent signing, if we signed billing then Amdouni could actually play as a 9 and we wouldn’t need a striker to help foster

My summary:
1) Delighted the squad size is being reduced.
2) Decent money coming in or being saved.
3) SP building his own squad from which it's up to him to create a team.
How that team performs remains to be seen but I'm looking forward to finding out. UTC!

Sorry - had discussed these two last week & had a right old moan about them to RV so thought it was obvious.
Think Sarmiento is slow and predictable and Anthony’s return sort of speaks for itself.
Being honest, if these are Parker signings I’m struggling with them. Thats not a go at him, I was unconvinced about his appointment, have been impressed with his interviews since, equally impressed with his results (bar Sunderland - which he gets a pass from me on, given the circumstances), but underwhelmed with performances. So overall I’m a middling with him and happy to be proved completely wrong about these guys, but these signings are downgrades in my view. Feel the Hannibal one is more impressive.
To be fair to Parker we are only now being able to bring players in during the last week of the window. If you come down to the buffet late the main dishes have often gone and there is a lack of choice. We have no idea what input Scott has had on signings so we shouldn’t use that as a stick to beat him with. The last 2 weeks have been awful for fans and Scott looked very downbeat after the Sunderland game. He didn’t give the impression that the cavalry was just the other side of the hill.

Yes….because he has been quality for every team he has played for.
But he did play for us and was one of the best players I have ever seen in a burnley shirt so of course that helps. Not because he played for us but because he was very good. If we were trying to sign Leon Cort I’d be less enamoured !!

What’s your gut feeling about benson?
Tough to say, doesn’t sound like he missed the game on Saturday because a move was imminent. So whether he just didn’t want to be considered atm or if it was Parker’s choice who knows. Leeds seem to have gone cold on him and I haven’t heard any other links, but I suspect his agent will be trying.
Not impossible that he stays.

It's actually the opposite, good players only really become available to clubs in our position late in the window, when the bigger clubs start sorting their squads out, meaning for example, Billings suddenly becomes available, along with other similar players, so there's actually more choice at the buffet

Amdouni likely to get his move do you think Longside?
Only deal I’ve seen discussed so far is a loan with an option. Very tough sell to the fans if we let him go like that as it’s a huge loss to us for little immediate financial gain. We’re Yet to sell a player for less than fair value and for the most part we’ve sold for good value.
The fact he was happy to be in the squad on Saturday and was training today can only be a good sign.
However, I’d still be surprised if both Amdouni and Koleosho were here at the weekend.

Surprised with koleosho even though wolves have cooled their interest for now.
Do you know if we have enquired about billing?

As much as i rate koleosho is he really worth £20m to a buying team. He’ll certainly play a big part in our season but he’s had a bad injury and scored 2 goals for us.
Massive money when you think about it. And yes I’d rather keep him than £20m

Just to remind you all.
I want to tell you I might as well do about a boy who can do anything, his name is Danny, he plays for Burnley
Danny ings Danny Ings Danny Ings
It would be the lift we all need.

Again, in isolation a transfer fee of £25m for Koleosho would normally be fantastic business, but it’s now imperative that we keep him.
It’s hard to imagine that had he not got injured, Odobert might’ve not got a look in.

Danny has had a poor couple of years in the Prem, but the romantic in me would absolutely love him back at Turf Moor. A really fantastic player and the big thing is the huge amount it would do to get the fanbase excited, it would be an atmosphere builder.

This.
Part of my head says he's probably going to miss a fair few games and is a bit of a risk but part of me is thinking he knows how to score and he'd not even need to change shirts

Ings would be interesting though from what I remember hearing he is on huge wages - unsure how that could be worked out. At his age I'm sure he'd want to eek out every last penny from that contract.

i didn't think this could get worse the reaction to the astute business the club is conducting is to bring Danny "Glass Knees" Ings.
What's Jack Cork and Ash Barnes doin these days?
I hear arfied is avaibale and so is Chaplow.
Lets build a team out of our heroes because Jay Rod has proved you are never past it.
Maybe a new manager like that bloke at Everton who will be sacked soon.
The reason this board is in meltdown is that the entitled muppets on here don't realise we are a small town club for whom a mid table finsih in the EFL is a good season.

Don't forget Isle of Man!! Think the main point is people not happy with us going for warm weather training on the account of what happened two/three weeks later. Pretty much every top team does it now and has been doing it for a while.

Way to bring down the mood
You are probably right to pour water on it (I think even the romantics here are partly on that space) but it shows how desperate folks are to react so positively to what is really just a rumour!!!

You have to take into account his injury record. However good he was, and he was, he’s not the same player now.

Bournemouth fans seem to think he is leaving this window most likely to a Championship club.
If we sign Billing then I assume we will then sell Brownhill

Has there actually been any links to Billing? Or is it just people making the link because of the Parker link and us needing a CM ?
We've asked about him within the last week. That's as far as I've been told and I've not heard anything since. Same guy who knew about Mejbri quite a bit sooner before everyone else. Usual caveats apply.
I will say that there are lots of things that you can level at Pace and Co this window; whether they've thrown the baby out with the bathwater, whether they've left it too late; this whole WhatsApp debacle - but from what Ive heard they are having a real go as the window comes to a close. Couldn't tell you whether it's targeted, sensible business that's been planned all along or if it's blind panic but they are trying to back Parker.

Nothing “new”. I expect Hannibal, Sarmiento and Anthony to be announced before we next play.
Those outgoings discussed for a while like AAD could be confirmed at any point.
Had a moment then thinking we best have them announced before we next play as transfer window would be closed but forgot about the Wolves game on Wednesday.

Fair Steve, I would just say Championship (as we know) is a whole other game to the level Ings has been playing at. He won’t have that pace anymore but if chances were given to him I would fancy him at this level to finish them. Staying fit is the issue obviously, not to mention any deal would have to be on terms that are probably a tiny percentage of his current salary. Unlikely one I’d have thought.
