Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome

Unbelievably we've still only lost 2 from the starting 11 at Luton

Fair play if you're still comfortable with what's happening here...absolute shitshow.

Do we know if Amdouini's loan has a price option for when they buy him next season-or just left open

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
By my reckoning we now need:
Two wingers
A striker
A number ten
A central midfielder
Arguably a left back
That’s before we possibly sell Brownhill, Trafford and Koleosho too which seems very possible. Add on another central midfielder, a goalkeeper and another winger in that scenario. Absolutely mental.

It’s a top “process”, is this.
What the **** is going on!? We’re reliant on going back up and appear to be doing everything we can to ensure that doesn’t happen.
Naive, shortsighted, or just plain mental. These clowns are taking us in one direction and with a pile of debt to boot.
3 days to sort this shambles out and that means bringing in some players who will be genuine difference makers, in this division, not might be OK’s, proper signings that will be a nailed on success.

A totally stupid decision loaning Zeki we should have been looking for cash as apparently we are skint.Zeki would have made a massive difference this season another mishandled deal from our board .Time for them to sell up as they couldn't run a bus queue

Do we have ANY players left at the club?
The heart and soul of the club and the fans cannot keep getting ripped out every season.

What if the contract he signed also said that if we were relegated he'd be allowed to leave?willsclarets wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 2:12 pmWe don't have to get them out at all. He signed a contract, which safeguards his future but also means we get to decide if he stays or goes till it expires. I understand you don't want 5 or 6 players in your team all desperate to go. But in this instance; financially and in terms of our promotion chances, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. It's a bigger risk letting him go 3 days before the window shuts, than it is to have a 23 year old annoyed temporarily he didn't get a move.

I'd only just got used to recognising the who's who of Kompany signings. My aging brain can't take much more of this learning new players every season.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Those saying players just wouldn't play in the Championship, why did most of Leeds squad remain intact last year? They had the same profile of player and most stayed. Clearly this is wanted by the board.

Saturday will be a sliding doors moment, the problem is the door is over a fifty foot drop.
Lose at the weekend and it's a spiral that'll be difficult to get out of, the whole of the ALK tenure could rest on these next five days.
Good luck Alan.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Amdouni was always going to go. Hopefully this means Kolo stays.
Yep, was always going to go but what is a surprise, is also selling all other players in his position including Twine without strengthening that position as well as doing the same for most other attacking positions...Exactly. He came to us purely to play in the Premier League. It surely shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that he's going.
We have just a few days left to save our season!... Not only are we far weaker in quality but we are also going to struggle in many positions for even the slightest of injury problems in the squad, even if we do sign the 3 players mentioned yesterday... This is unforgivable if they do not sort this out by Friday!

I don’t particularly like the ownership but even I can see that there has to be something else going on here, the owners in no way are just thinking let’s sell everyone who makes us a profit.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 2:13 pmCome on. This level of turnover is unheard of and has been made from the previous manager and the boards' view of players as commodities.
If a player basically knows that they're nothing more than glorified cattle, then why would you expect them to properly buy in and be committed?
I have a friend who’s family member works at the training ground (I won’t say their role) but they have said the amount of players who have been pushing for moves is like nothing he’s ever seen before
Why would the owners sell everyone knowing they need replacing

This is also why you don't make so many additions after being promoted - it's an unwritten rule in football. Totally disenfranchised existing players and evidently the new ones as well that knew they were mercenaries at best.
The sensible fans called this out last year, but predictably got absolute pelters for it from the lot who lapped up all the crap spewed by the previous manager - the footballing world's very own Pied Piper.

Transfer ins and outs showing 47.93 Eruo profit, without Al-Dakhil. It will cost more to replace them like for like.

It is weird in that it feels we have sold everyone yet when I look at the list the only ones gone up to now who I would liked to have kept are Odobert, Berge, O'Shea & Amdouni.
Of those 4 there was only really O'Shea I imagined playing in the championship. The club has a lot of work to do now in the next 48 hours.

It's more complex than that yes, but it all stems from their b4tshit mental 'project' in the first place which is the entire point that for some reason, keeps getting overlooked.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 2:30 pmI don’t particularly like the ownership but even I can see that there has to be something else going on here, the owners in no way are just thinking let’s sell everyone who makes us a profit.

I've gone beyond despair, and only have hope left. Let's see where we're at when the window closes. Very worrying.

Lot's of crying on here. Not sure it's needed.
Twine? Wasn't going to play much.
I hope we learnt from last season.that talent needs men around to lead them. Otherwise, we lose. Winning doesn't just happen. It's a culture which needs to be encouraged and guided.
I have no fear at us selling off and loaning out.
They're reinvesting. Wait and see what we end up with. We'll obviously be better off than when we came down last time.
Also, the last promotion side only really clicked after around October. August and September were a bit disappointing.

Loaning out Amdouni and Obafemi tells me that the club finances are healthy (which i doubt). Therefore, also letting Koleosho go too should be a firm no.
How on earth does a massive club like Benfica get away with not having to buy him outright? Nonsense

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
We are letting players walk all over us. Newcastle have made about half a dozen bids for Guhe that go back a number of weeks-the latest being £65 m supposedly, but he has played both games for Palace. We apparently have agreed to take a Brighton player, yet despite it being agreed he starts tonight for them tonight. Then we have endless players who have had NO bids for them not wanting to play, despite being under contract and presuming they are still being paid- Tresor, Wout,Benson, Amdouini,Berge,Zaroury and presumably more. We might find out tomorrow tonight with 3 keepers on the bench

There's increasingly a touch of the Fred Karno's Circus about this whole sh1tshow...probably have to go back to Venky's (alleged) belief that you couldn't be relegated from the Prem to find anything as inept.
If Pace et al are in control of things, then the're certainly not interested in a return to the top table,or sticking around..if (as I'd guess) they're not, then we've not been mismanaged... we've not been managed at all.
Less than 4 days and we'll know for sure.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
People should be worried and moreover should be questioning Alan Pace. What has happened and is continuing to happen is unsustainable and scattergun. Even if we somehow mould a decent enough squad out of this carcrash over the next three days, the bottom line is that this cannot keep happening. Tearing it up and starting again every year is absolutely stupid and leads nowhere good - eventually it all goes wrong as the players don’t mix well tactically etc (could well be the case this season).
That’s without even touching on the bigger issues in play at the club which are governing this approach. A total mess.

Anyone with quality has been moved on.
Muric, Amdouni, OShea, Odobert, Tresor(whether you like him or not), Berge.
Koleosho, Trafford and Weghorst likely to follow.
Then add in Twine, Zaroury, AAD etc.
It's just too much and too quickly. Parker is going to have a nightmare on his hands trying to clear up this absolute mess and trying to get a cohesive, functioning squad again. The board have made an absolute shambles of this.

Quite correct, but the deeper issue is that the players 2nd and 3rd in line to those 4, have also left the club, or want out, in which case SP doesn't favour working with them. We're absolutely screwed, potentially don't see us being able to field a team come Saturday, it's kinda like there's a life threatening disease hit the club.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 2:33 pmIt is weird in that it feels we have sold everyone yet when I look at the list the only ones gone up to now who I would liked to have kept are Odobert, Berge, O'Shea & Amdouni.

There surely can only be 1 explanation, ALK have to be cashing out, the only thing I don't understand is the Humphries deal.

He was shite in the Premier League (you could argue the whole team was with exceptions being Berge, Odobert in parts and O’Shea in the second half of the season) but against a poorer standard of opposition his poor workrate and half hearted effort wouldn’t matter due to his quality on the ball. A luxury you can’t afford when fighting relegation, an asset when you’re trying to win promotion.
