I suppose one thing that is crystallising from this is an understanding of why last seasons team showed such a lack of fight, passion and desire to stay up. Why their heads buckled the second they went a goal behind and why they generally looked, to a man, like they didn’t give much of a **** whether Burnley got relegated or not.

I'm as keen as anyone for us to win on Saturday, but I still think that the remaining 42 games combined, might have slightly more bearing on our promotion chances than just that one.

The perception is that the owners have sold the players to get their hands on the money.

If we lose on Saturday then it'll also be perceived that they've turned a title winning side into also rans in the process.

The fact we are playing them magnifies the issue ten fold and will almost definitely result in a backlash, a backlash that can easily spillover into the remaining 42 games.

I'm not trying to be over dramatic, as a win and a good performance will see everything being forgotten. I've been level headed throughout this but have enough experience of our fanbase to know what's at stake at the weekend, it is more than the ninety minutes.

They want to leave because there is a huge pay cut after relegation and in a number of cases because the club wants them to go for financial reasons and to trim the squad.

i think this is more player led wanting moves, and the club trying to cash in while they can on depreciating assets.

If that really is the case, then we get rid of them. If I was Parker I wouldn't want them at the club. You want players who get paid a lot money and should be professional. It has to be said that Gnonto and his agent tried it on last season. Leeds said either you go when someone meets our valuation or you can sit in the reserves for 4 years and rot.

He was back playing within the month and all was forgiven.

The point being that you don't need to bend over as soon as a player shows a bit of discontent.

I'm not surprised that players want to leave. Who would want to stay when you look at the squad around you and seemingly most are linked to exits. You wouldn't want to be the last one standing to clean up the mess at the end
