I like Lyle but he’s no replacement for Ivan Toney.
Like ordering something off Wish.
They played most of the season without foster, I would say their system does suit foster but doesn’t make it right, there’s ways players can get moves.
Suppose Tarky did it all those years ago to sign for us

Tell Benson to polish his boots and give him some tissues. He's playing.

If there is a 25m offer for Koleosho on the table then the club should take it. Come on. Unless the recruitment department is totally broken we can surely find 3 or 4 decent young players for that sort of money. If we get offered 10m for Brownhill I'd expect him to go too given he's out of contract in the summer. Wout is just waiting to get out and Trafford is no doubt on his way too. We had 40 players we knew there'd be a lot of outgoings. A lot of them came in because we were ambitious or because we were a Premier League club. If the club can make a profit I'm not surprised if they sell. What will be telling is how much they spend before the window shuts. In past windows they've always spent a significant amount. Could be a busy week.
The deals are good value when looked at in isolation. But combined together it's nearly an entire overhaul in a short period of time. It worked after the previous relegation, but usually when this happen to teams it doesn't go well.

Genuine question and not meant to start some kind of world war, but does anyone think ALK will be a success here?
I’ve doubted them from day one but this is looking like the sinking of the titanic at the moment

Some extreme comments on here. We played poorly last season because we had a manager who could or would not adapt to the PL.
They want to leave because there is a huge pay cut after relegation and in a number of cases because the club wants them to go for financial reasons and to trim the squad.
There is nothing more to it than that.
I think it safe to add that Scott Parker wants some (if not most) gone so that he can build his own squad... perfectly understandable.

They had absolutely no chance of being a success here the moment they bought the club in the manner they did, that was obvious to absolutely anyone who doesn’t just live in the moment.
The reckoning was always going to come one day because Burnley are not and never will be an established, permanent fixture in the PL. One day we won’t bounce straight back and then we’re ****** due to how they bought us and their refusal to pay their debt off. What happens if we don’t go up this season is anyone’s guess but it will not be good.

No they won’t, the model always relied on continuous years in the premier league.
We had one brilliant championship season where we spent the most in the league and then decided we could be like no other promoted team in history and sign 15 players and expect to stay up.
I don’t actually know what the ownership get out of the constant stress of running a football club

Not sure that selling a team that would have walked the Championship is understandable.

If Lyle Foster has somehow got a Premier League move lined up off the back of his time at Burnley so far that is really surprising to me. He’s got the raw attributes but come on, what’s he done? He’s had 5 or 6 brilliant performances, a load of rank bad ones and then a few middling ones - all interspersed with a significant amount of time off with mental illness which the club and fanbase stuck by him on.
After signing him from an absolute non entity of a club and making him likely a millionaire, I have to say I’d find his efforts to get himself out of our club even more distasteful than the others.
I would be disappointed if the attitudes reported of Foster and Luca are true. The way the club has looked after them both in the past 12 months deserves some form of loyalty, nobody can blame the owners for these two, it's just poor behaviour, which I would certainly expect better of from both of them.

I’m outspoken on my issues with ALK’s ownership but I am starting to think there must be something else at play here for this sheer volume of requests to leave.
I sense it’s the alleged WhatsApp from the Academy Director.

Transfer window shuts in 3 days. There is no way we can sufficiently plan incomings when we don't exactly know who is going and when.
A week is a long time in football, 2 weeks is an eternity.

Getting worried that what’s happening could affect incomings, it all seems to have gone quiet about them and one playing tonight for Brighton.
If they and others don’t happen, the manager won’t stay around and no time left …God forbid it could get that bad.

Based on performances last season, there is no way Foster, or Koleosho (and even tbh Odobert or O'Shea really) justify Premier league teams spending these sorts of figures on them. This is football as data analysis exercise, with with the value of players assessed on paper criteria hidden in the stats. It's like some sort of football version of crypto currency, with value based on criteria one step removed from real life. ALK have seemingly found a way of making money from that, but it has little to do with football understood as a game actually played in reality.

Athletic now reporting Sarmiento also as a loan. How many players outside the keepers and the back 4 will we actually own on more than a 1 year deal?

That doesn’t add up. The academy director (presumably) has nothing to do with the first team therefore his
opinion also shouldn’t count. Yes it might p*ss you off a little bit but it sounds like the club has got shut of him. If the message was Parker’s opinions then I can see the link.
If players are pushing for moves I think this is just a purely domino effect of players seeing their chances of getting back to the Prem slipping away with every departure.

It appears as though 95% of signings that ALK have brought in have no idea about Burnley and the history and culture of the club. Surely we need to be doing more to get them more involved with supporters and communities. We can’t keep having this when management changes.
I say about signings but I think ALK need to do more as well. I honestly don’t think they understand what supporting Burnley means to everyone in this local area. How can we expect them to be ensuring players understand more when they don’t themselves? I know Pace and Watt like to show their faces in places but for me it’s more PR.
Get club historian on the players inductions.

If people want out, get rid. And you can’t blame them after the farce of the past 2 weeks. If I was Koleosho, I would want out too.
The past 14 months have been a farce actually, and it’s now coming home to roost.

in all honesty, if we can somehow double our money on Foster I'd bite their hand off as long as they bring some replacements in.
I've already written this season off in terms of a serious promotion challenge. It's time to get some players in that want to be here

There is no way we can replace and sign new players for all the ones that have already left in a couple of days, never mind all the ones remaining who also want out. We must be playing the U21's team this year.

There is no point in having a FAB if there isn’t a meeting till the middle of September, there has to be some dialogue from the club with what’s happening, not just a crappy tweet from Russell ball
