Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
And as for Foster. He has a Short memory. Not long ago he was on sick leave from his job getting payed. That’s the way he shows respect and gratitude. But the first smell of money he’s gone. I don’t think we need a guy like this around the club.

I think we were owed more than any loan taken out, but this isn't really the thread to debate it on

We’ve no idea whether Mejbri, Sarmiento and Anthony are going to be the extent of the remaining incomings.

With just Jay Rod and Hountondji I'm more worried about avoiding relegation... You can forget anything like promotion if they are our 2 main strikers!I know we're still over the 25 but we would need to replace Foster with someone capable of playing a part this season because having just Jay Rod and Hountondji as recognised forwards is not the way you go about challenging for promotion.

Any such clause would be madness given the fact that Ipswich went into administration to avoid paying their debts the last time they were relegated from the top flight.

For me the accounts at the end of July 23 combined with the money spent last season makes the rumours of us needing to generate 100m this summer in sales to be true
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
It must be similar to Tresor. Relegation or otherwise we get 25m. Any other deal is brain dead.

It looks like Ipswich are going down the vk route buy buy at any cost … a very dangerous game when it goes wrong. Example Burnley.

The Horse Whisperer would be more appropriate.

Luton have agreed an £8m deal for Ogbene according to Sky. Do they still need Lyle? He's the better striker anyway.

Bit of hope for the Brighton winger move. They’re letting another player out on loan today who scored last night.

Longside claret said that he expected the deals to be done before we next play, which would make any incomings today. We desperately need some hope and good news ahead of Saturday

No, I mean trained at Gawthorpe.
I understand tensions are high, but there’s an inordinate amount of nastiness on this board.

Whatever happened to the word "professional" when talking about footballers , and the way they conducted themselves. As several have already posted, no surprise we went down with just 24 points with this squad. I suspect not many of us slept well following news of Amdouini & Foster going. Lets hope work on replacements started a few days ago as these moves did not suddenly happening, and if we did not read what was going on the club are very "green" and remote from the world of football

No I didn’t. I passed on information that I was told. Probably came from a rumour on this board - seems everyone is in panic mode.

Well, if they only came for Kompany, and no longer want to be here - then we are well rid. I shall shed no tear.
Better out of the door than spending the whole season gawping at their phones while stinking out treatment room.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
As it stands right now, of all the players that have moved on, there’s really only 4?that I’m bothered about - Muric, O’Shea, Berge and Odobert. The first 2 have been replaced, only time will tell if the new guys will be as good, and we are led to believe the other 2 will be replaced today/tomorrow. Not one of the others has consistently been good for us. I get that strength in depth has been affected, but hopefully that can be addressed in January if not this week, or even better some of the players step up and take their chance (eg Egan-Reilly). I’m not even fussed about Amdouni, Foster, Weghorst but would like to keep Vitinho and Koleosho

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
What would be ironic is after this farce we somehow improve the first XI.
Berge would be tough but Billing is similar level, and we should now be throwing cash at that one rather than letting Leeds sneak in. Entirely plausible Foster, right wing, goalie (Hladky) could all be improved on last season’s versions. Not saying I see it, be it is plausible.
I’ll judge things at tea time on Saturday.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
We clearly do not have the cash to replace what is leaving with anything like a Philip Billing (who would probably cost £15m+). You don’t make these sales if you’re financially secure and that also shows in the manner of business where anyone we try to get in seems to be on a loan with a purchase if we get promoted (kicking the can down the road?). Hannibal is allegedly permanent but was originally going to be a loan. Anthony, Sarmiento and Humphreys all loans with obligations/options. Not withstanding the fact that you can only have five loans in your squad, it’s worrying that we’ve sold £150m worth of players (or will have shortly, perhaps even more than that) and still seem to be haggling over loan arrangements rather than having the money to buy.

Perhaps he just wants to go and ply his trade in an environment that hasn’t become toxic and in a constant state of upheaval with players departing on a daily basis.
For somebody with a history of mental illness hardly a stable environment for him.
