We’ve barely got any flair players left, Alan Titchmarsh.

11 goals scored in opening 3 fixtures and just one of the scorers (Brownhill) left at the club.
That’s some going by any stretch.

That’s fair.dandeclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 6:29 pmWe’ve had plenty of these, and guess what…. They’ve often turned out to be integral cogs in a TEAM….. Graham Alexander, Steven Thompson, David Jones, Scott Arfield….. all lower half champ at best, players who actually transformed the way the TEAM played.
If you’re going to grow precious roses, you need a load of soil
And manure….. rose bulbs don’t grow that well if they’re in a bag of bulbs.
Good to see a spine being built in the team…. keeper, Worrall, potentially this lad, add to the solidity that your flair players can go and play in.
I’m as frustrated as most with the sales and the mess, but to be negative about everything is a waste of energy.

Lets get at Wolves
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
So this probably means stories about Vitinho, Weghorst and Amdouni were correct and they are leaving. You'd guess Benson is also off, but I'm not sure if he's found his next destination.
Koleosho could also be leaving, but he's "injured" anyway.
On the other hand, Foster is benched which could mean Sacha was wrong about him moving to Ipswich. They are interested in other strikers, and it's odd no one else wrote about that.

Is Benson one that's injured or just left out?
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Exactly the type we would get when we started inticing them in with the club as a stepping stone. And also exactly the mindset of the manager that signed most of them.HollandsPies wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 6:28 pmWow, the club haven't half signed some mercenary two- hats.
Probably has somat to do with it

According to my celtic pals, very hit and miss but not a reliable starter. Sounds like he'd be a good impact subElectroClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 6:42 pmMust admit, don't know too much about Johnston, do other posters reckon he'd be ok?

How many of Kompany's signings are left? Pace is clearing the decks of them all.

Wouldn’t that mean Sarmiento isn’t coming then?Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 6:37 pmhttps://www.expressandstar.com/sport/fo ... -imminent/

Look I can be as negative as anyone but the owners have a real chance to turn things around here. Sign Whittaker, this lad and retain foster the season looks a lot brighter.
We could line up against Blackburn with a front four of:
Johnston, Mejbri, Whittaker
Foster
That’s as good as anything else in this league

Confident that Parker has the tools to bring in at least another 4 or 5 decent players to give the team a liftNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 6:52 pmLook I can be as negative as anyone but the owners have a real chance to turn things around here. Really don’t like the Johnston signing but this is the only money we have it seems, shopping in the bargain basement again.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
The other day you were saying Whittaker is shite because you saw him once on Sky (away from home when he didn’t touch the ball)Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 6:52 pmLook I can be as negative as anyone but the owners have a real chance to turn things around here. To show intent he needs to cough up what Plymouth want, i reckon that's the only way we get him.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 6:55 pmI wouldn’t say no chance.
I think the chances are slim but if Pace wants to show intent this is the type of signing that is required

The atmosphere on Saturday will be so much more upbeat if we can being 2 or 3 more quality players in.

I didn’t say he was shite I said I wasn’t impressed by him and didn’t get the hype.
I also said I saw him on a few occasions.
However at this moment time I think he’s considerably better option than playing Sambo on the wing
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
No chance of Johnson. WBA also agreed a fee. After spending a successful season with them he will choose them over us

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I’d be amazed if we didn’t have the finances now to get some £10m signings in, especially if they include an obligation if promoted.
Vitinho and Trafford seem likely to go, Amdouni is with an obligation, Weghorst is off. So I understand why we may have to wait, but as long as these happen the money should be there to spend, even when considering wider financial issues.
We know ALK are risk takers, unfathomable if they don’t take that route now.

Trust me, people are relishing in the negativity.jedi_master wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 5:44 pmNot a single person is relishing watching Burnley sell Muric, Berge, Amdouni, Al-Dakhil, O’Shea, Twine, Odobert, Zaroury, Gudmundsson (and possibly Brownhill, Koleosho and Foster) and trying to sign Josh Laurent with the funds. I promise you. Pace deserves any criticism he gets at the moment as long as it sticks to his stewardship of the club and not personal.

Same as Tresor, or did he have Malaria, that's the best one I've heard yet and 10/10 on the excuse front..

Vitinho's not worth €9m and the Vitinho that was ostensibly on the pitch on Saturday's not worth 9p. But unless we replace him we're in it up to our necks.

Listen, I know JL inside out. He can do it all. He has the ability to go all the way.
He hasn't, though. I wonder why.
Classic manager sacker. I wouldn't want him anywhere near unless for pennies.

Is it Johnson, Johnston or Johnstone?
